    Default Cross of Iron

To the other movies that have been put forward, I would add Cross of Iron. I don't know how realistic it is, but it was done by Sam Peckinpah, I think.

Also, Regeneration. I think that's the title for the U.S. release, but I may be wrong--that might be the title for the original Canadian? release. It stars Jonathan Pryce as a WWI army psychiatrist at an army hospital in the U.K. and is a fictional account of the friendship between Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sasson, both of whom were poets as well as soldiers. A good movie highlighting the horros of the First World War.

Hey, i know ive asked this question somewhere else, but dont remember where, therefore dont know where to find the answer.

When Wollcot's bird picks up Howe (i think) off the beach after catching Atto, He says: Nice man very smooth, then the sniper Gordon says: Single shot threw the engine block, then someone says somthing like: ****, thats a _______________. Does anyone know what he says and who says it???, Thanks any help is much appreciated.

This line from BHD has been discussed elsewhere. Hoot says "****, that's a shame, that was a nice jeep."

    Odd angry shot
    Silmido

Russian movies sucks, there is even more unreal superman crap than in american movies, only exception I know is Brat 1(Brat 2 is crap), and Zvezda. I like realistic movies, so maybe somebody will like something else, it´s just fine

You guys need to get a grip, stop watching these rubbish hollywood movies and open your eyes on whats out there. Ok theres alot of good hollywood stuff I agree.

    timetraveller is spot on!

If you can find Iranian warmovies from Iran/Iraq war they are the best! They are filmed italian neo realistic style, no heroes or famous filmstars. Just the camera, the small bou with the bayonett in the ground, the special forces commando trying to pass by iraqi soilders in the marshes. etc small stories that link together to something big. No supermen, no rambos and not much allah either. Pure ****ing quality.

    My list

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)

Probably one of the best war movies ever, youll never notice its from 1930. It captures the spirit of conscripts very well + reaction from wannabe civilians, simply this movie is a must watch.

    Voyina awesome russian movie

Casualties of War (1989) - A bit liberal but has points.

The Desert Rats (1953) Youre not a true anzac unless you seen this

Enemy at the Gates (2001) Wonderfull cinematics of stalingrad

Framom främsta linjen (2004) Winter war basicly

Jarhead (2005) One of the few movies than can realisticly capture soilder sentiment and the "feeling in the group/unit"
    '

Kagemusha (1980) Master akira kurosawas japanese wars.

No Man's Land (2001) Pure quality of balkan tragedy, un soilders see this.

Untergang, Der (2004) Quality officers and death of hitler.

Battaglia di Algeri, La (1966) Insurgency, Insurgency Insurgency

Apocalypse Now (1979) I like it but few of our military fans fail to realize that this movie is a liberal bias trying to paint all soilders as nutters.

Bronenosets Potyomkin (1925) Battleship potemkin, see it!

    Battle of the Bulge (1965)

    A Bridge Too Far (1977)

    The Bunker (2001)

    Cross of Iron (1977)

    The Eagle Has Landed (1976)

    Southern Comfort (1981)

    The Colditz Story (1955)

    The Cruel Sea (1953)

    The Dam Busters (1955)

    Dunkirk (1958)

    The Guns of Navarone (1961)
