A holster for a USP .45 will not fit the Tactical due to the extra barrel length and different sights. A holster for a Mk23 (bigger than the Tactical but similar) may be too loose of a fit.

Am I just being too picky or can anyone help me out?
I think you must contact Insight Technologies, that produce the M6X. They have hoslters that are produced under their specifics.

    Default Tac holster question

I don't know much about holsters so I'm looking to you guys. I'm looking for a high quality, decently priced tac holster that will work with an SP2009/2340.

Left handed version would be preferred, but isn't mandatory.

    Default Selecting a holster

    The world is in CHAOS!

Blackhawk Industries is no longer manufacturing the Omega VI, and although it is still available it's popularity has been usurped by the evil kydex holsters.

Is the Omega VI still in use by American SOF? What other nylon drop-leg holsters are currently in use (preferably ones which accept a P220 with a taclight).

Yes I have searched teh internetz, and yes I have searched for simular threads using the forums search feature.

Nothing there me or anyone else interested in holsters hasnt already seen.

Was already looking at the BDS, but it doesnt appear that it would accept a tactical light. The Eagle industry holsters are completely uninspired and benign.

The links also do not describe their current usage by todays forces. But thanks for the links.

First off, you didnt ask anything about current usage by todays forces in your post before you edited it. You were requesting similiar holsters were you not?

The previous common use, the packaging of ***** women with the holster, airborne retention w/ the capacity for the tac light while maintaining a fairly flexible loose fit. It also looks quite pretty, especially with a little floral embroidery on the nytaneon nylon.

I thought I had modified it in advance to insure that didnt happen - sorry for the confusion.

What difference does it make what's being used. Some operators(including LE) are gear whores and take their kit seriously, others use what's available and/or issued. Either way, just because it is in service doesn't make it uber tacticool to have one. Nor does it validate that specific holster as being a premium choice. Select a holster that FITS both your intended use and your intended setup. Select your holster from a reputable manufacturer and stop worrying about whether or not it is in service.

Some soldiers/operators use a mag pouch as a holster, does that make it the best setup? Perhaps the worst? It's the setup that works for that person for their specific needs.

In your case, a P220 with light really limits your options. As mentioned, Safariland 6004 series are quite popular, great piece of kit if you like the speed of kydex and can handle the rigid form. HSGI will custom tailor a holster for you. Eagle offers their MkIII and MkV holsters with light mount.

    22.5 degrees,

I used "in service" to narrow things down to potential selection of reliable and reputable holsters. Your first paragraph appears to be focused based upon assumptions that I am some airsoft kiddy who just wants what the big boys use, so I am disregarding it.

I had already commented on the Eagle industries, and the Safariland. Like you said about the limited options I dont think that the Safariland holsters would accomidate them. Regardless I had also stated that kydex and simular holsters were unacceptable for my purpose. I started this thread to pursue anything that I had missed, not because I dont care enough to research for my own kit. I did not appreciate the tone of your message. My disregard for Safariland and 'special needs' due to the less commonly used pistol with a tactical light is prima facie why I am not just trying to copy 'operators.'

That said, thank you for posting about HSGI. They look nice, and may work, taking a closer look at them.

I had a HSGI holster...they sent me the wrong one and I sent it back for a refund. Not just because they sent me one with the wrong specs but it didnt fit my thigh properly.

Good material and great customer service though.

    ZaakM433,
Hostile intent on my part is something you perceived from my post, not something I intended nor implied. However, you are correct. There was some underlying frustration involved when posting my comments. I in no way believe nor was led to believe that you were an airsofter. My frustration was spawned not by your post but your request/question in general. Being neither LE nor MIL I find it frustrating and irritating when some folks feel the need to "copy" MIL or LE gear choices on the pretense that they too will gain some sort of mystical knowledge or skill simply by using the same kit. obviously you are not this person and my underlying frustration was inappropriately directed towards you.

I agree that those brands and models currently being fielded are probably much better choices than those that are not. Not because of who is using them but rather how they use them. As I mentioned before, not all MIL or LE operators are concerned about their kit, nor the setup of their kit. Obviously these folks would not be a great source of help when determining which rig or manufacturer is providing great equipment. The fact that brand X is being used and liked by both the gear savvy and those who aren't is a testament to the general construction and design of the rig. For that alone, I cannot fault anyone who selects their gear from that which is in current use.
