Hello, just posting this request on the back of this thread to save cluttering up the forum.

I'm on the hunt for a pistol holster available in the UK to take a medium frame pistol. I can't stand leg holsters at all so please don't suggest one! What I'm looking for is a simple thumb-break style holster that can fit onto/sewn onto my beltkit/vest.

    Something similar to this:

Does anyone have oppinions on 'Bulle' kit. Is it w*nk, or up to the job? I ask because it is cheap and available in the UK.

    Thanks.

I think Bulle makes airsoft copies of the real stuff, but that doesn't mean they have be the worst on the market. For what I see I'd suggest some of the Eagle cordura holsters. They work fine, thumbbreak is quick, although as with most soft holsters, re-holstering is crappy.

Something like this, maybe not so high-ride. What pistol HP?

Got one from Eagle to get rid off if you fancy, it might suit you, it was used in the same way as the Ngati's on the webbing. PM for the pics.

http://www.vegaholster.it/cover.aspx?lang=eng are sold in the UK by http://www.usmcpro.com/ and are reasonable value for money. I've used there cordura belt slide model for a while. USMCpro also stock some of the Uncle Mike's brand too which are a bit more cheaply made but serviceable.

    Cheers Catch and Grumps.

I went for the Vega FB2 ambidextrous holster with the spare mag carrier. It seems like the best option as it can be used independantly on a belt. Not bad value at Ģ23 with P&P. I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives.

    Thanks again for your help.

I hope you're happy with it. I found the thumb break on the Vega holster to be a better than on most cheap synthetic holsters, the molding is also an improvement on the Uncle Mike's stuff.

As you asked for a decent thumb break I didn't suggest using a double M4 mag pouch as a holster when used on a vest. I've never used them like this but quite a few people seem to favour it. Personally I'd fix a bungie inside the grip to be a bit more secure. Anyway like you said this wouldn't be as stable as a dedicated holster when worn on a belt.

Yeah, thanks. You can get away with using a mag pouch as a holster on some vests/rigs, but not with mine. This ought to do the trick I think!

The Safariland 6004 is almost the unofficial standard A, US SOF holster. Followed by the Eagle Omega(?) holster.

Blackhawk is considered garbage, stuff that penny pinchers buy, but nobody actually ended up using. For example, my unit turned in over 4 full pallets of blackhawk crap to DRMO that was all unused...

The Blackhawk Serpa is known to jam up with sand, and have a higher rate of accidental discharges.

Yeah, I've used the blackhawk thigh holster (don't remember which one) but I'm not a fan of things on the thigh. I found all the straps/belts too rigid and the whole thing gets in the way when entering/exiting vehicles. That's why I was after something to fit on a belt or in/on a rig.

bought the vega holster already mate, but yeah. I didn't want one with a flap to undo and get in the way, plus I might be fitting it inside a rig so it needs to fit flat up against the inside surface, and still be a right-handed draw. Only a thumb-break style holster would do that.
