    Top one looks empty. Maybe his setup had it already and didn't remove it when he put the drop holster

    The top one looks like it contains a pistol with wooden grip.

    translation of text

    [SIZE=2][FONT=Arial]Afghanistan : operation « Moshtarak » continues

    Since February 12, the Kandak 31 of the Afghan National Army (ANA), advised by the OMLTs (Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team) conducted security activities in the district of Nad'E Ali, north of Marjah. It works in conjunction with units of the British 1st Royal Welsh.

    The actions aim to reduce the last pockets of resistance and consolidate security in the towns of the region. The Kandak organizes, througout its progression, shuras with Maleks (elders) from villages which are satisfied with the return of institutions and of he Afghan army in the district of Nad'E Ali, and explain to soldiers the needs and expectations of the population. The later, still in doubt the few last days,opens itself now more easily to the soldiers to express its gratitude and complaints, as evidenced by the smiles and friendly gestures of the inhabitants.

    The Kandak 31 has also discovered three improvised explosive factories -type "pressure plate" - and neutralized over 120 IEDs in its area of operational responsibility.

    Present on site, the commanding officer of the 1st Royal Welsh and the Chief of the OMLTs welcomed the cooperation between British and Afghan forces, who symbolically hoisted their flag on the bazaar of the city. In a few days, the Afghan police (ANCOP) and the Afghan Police (ANP) will move into the area.

    The mission continues, following the rate of replenishment by helicopters, uts task to secure logistical routes, that will very quickly provide the necessary aid for reconstruction and development in Helmand.
