Haïti - French army volunteers (RSMA), mostly from Carribean French Islands : Guadeloupe et Martinique are helping the Haïtian people by humanitarian actions like repairing water pipes, providing tents, healthcare and food to those who have lost everything. Speaking "Creole" which is a Carribean French derivative language has helped a lot. Metropolitan French Forces are also in Haïti to give all the help they can under the United Nations command.

Mirage F-1 CT (Tactical Combat) - "Normandie-Niemen" Russo-French squadron commemorative livery (and the famous "SharkTank").

July 2009, the "Neu-Neu" squadron has been put on hold. It will be recreated later with a Squadron of Rafales.
"Normandie" squadron was created in 1942 in Lebanon, a group of volunteers pilots and mechanics, under the command of General De Gaulle were invited by the Russians to join the Ivanovo airbase near Moscow to create a French squadron in Russia and to help fighting the Germans.
96 pilots were included into the squadron, 42 of them were killed in action.
The july 21, 1944, Joseph Staline gave the name "Niemen" to the squadron because of its successful mission against the Luftwaffe above the Niemen river.
The Frenchs were flying Dewoitine D-520 and Yakolev Yak-1/3/9 fighters.
"Normandie-Niemen" squadron made 5240 missions, scored 273 confirmed victories and 36 unconfirmed victories.
