Thread: Anti-Immigtaton gain in Dutch poll

Default Anti-Islamic gain in Dutch poll

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8548847.stm

Preliminary results in Dutch local polls suggest an anti-Islam party has made major gains and may pose a serious challenge in June parliamentary polls.
It seems that in certain European countries the anti-islamic card is being played to vote in more fascists who might steer Europe back to the dark ages (Do you believe it would stop at the immigration issue? Fanatics always root for upheavels that's how they operate). It's a shame that a reasonable debate within such societies is nigh-on impossible, with the fascists laughing their way into parliaments.

Could you explain to me the concept of "Anti--Immigtaton"? I haven't heard of that before.

European people vote facists because they don't want islamic facists. Funny, isn't it.
It's not a vote against the islamic population in general, it's against those idiots who only want social benefits or don't accept the rights of women.

Surely there are people who aren't far-something can deal with these challenges? Why resort to the dregs of humanity?

I don't comapare them with Germans. I compare them to other immigrant groups (no, not from wealthy countries). And muslims perform far worse.
That has nothing to do with stereotypes. That are statistics.

There aren't and that's the problem. As far as I know none of our major political parties in Germany has any plans to stop immigration into our welfare system or to deport immigrants who refuse to assimilate into the German society. Even to suggest such a step would be a total political suicide and therefor no politician in Germany would try it. Anyone who tries to bring this topic into a public discussion will soon be declared as a right-wing nutjob or as Neo-Naz. (e.g. Thilo Sarrazin, CEO of Germany's Federal Bank)

It's the curse of our PC-society, you could say our very own version of "don't ask, don't tell". We need the moderate and democratic parties to deal with this issue in a way the people wants it. Only so we can prevent right-wing extremists to gain too much influence in politics.

You think Geert Wilders party is fascist? One of Wilders stated reasons for objecting to the Quran is how hostile it is towards gays and lesbians. Funny, isn't it? When you support gay rights against supposedly fundamentalist Christians (who don't blow themselves up at the drop of a hat) that makes you brave and courageous. But standing up for gays against Islamic extremists with a history of violence and murder, that makes you a fascist.

Final question: If this "fringe, and far-right" party is the most or second most popular party in the Netherlands, then is it still "fringe"? And what about the "mainstream" parties with a tiny slice of the vote?

Europeans allows immigration but does little to allow them to blend in.

Yet they whine why they are different and hold on to their values and norms.

As anticipated, Ordie shows up with a profound assessment of the European immigration problem. Of course, the problem lies with the oppressive white European man, not the criminal nomads who come here acting like they're still in the Barbary whilst taking over neighbourhoods/cities, profiting from our wealth and making no attempts to assimilate whatsoever, because quite frankly, they despise our culture.

Allow them to blend in? What would you have them do exactly to allow them to blend in? The US is unique as our entire culture is based on the melting pot theory. European nations have their own cultures, languages, and norms associated with their specific countries which are centuries old. If there is anyone with a right to demand learning a language or assimilate to their norms it would be those countries.
