Every now and then articles pop up around the internet (as was brought to my attention via PM) which suggest that it's important to make sure all users are aware of the rules here, and so that nobody gets into needless trouble over something they posted. Staying compliant usually just means being a good internet citizen and giving credit where it's due, and giving originating content sites the traffic they deserve in the manner which they intended. Please read the following rules concerning copyright on this forum, which are part of the larger "usage agreement/contact us" page.

Concerning copyrighted works appearing on Militaryphotos.net message boards:

1. Articles or news stories: Don't copy entire articles off of other websites or other distribution mediums and paste them into posts here. It's important to be a good internet citizen and comply with all copyright laws by only posting the title of the article, a link back to the source, and a small blurb telling what the article is about so users know what they're clicking on.

2. Images: Hotlinking inline images or directly linking to an image without permission from the copyright holder isn't allowed. Instead, post a link back to the originating website page that contains the image so that it's viewed in its intended context.

3. Request for usage rights of copyrighted content that appears originally or only on Militaryphotos.net: The copyrights of any text or images posted on this site are owned by, and are the responsibility of, the users who post them. The Militaryphotos.net staff/webmaster does not perform intermediary duties, and will not contact users on your behalf. If you wish to converse with any users on the message board, you must sign up for an account and use the forum software to "personal message" them. If your copyrighted work has been used on this site without permission, please see the 'copyright agent' section of the "contact us" link on the site's main page for the fastest method of resolution.
