Website here, and a book I was reading today both state that the British Forces in the Falklands are equipped with AUG's. Anyone know why this is?

Falklands Islands Defence Force use them.
Falklands Islands DF with AUGs.![]()
that picture is PIMP ASS!! i love it![]()
So are these guys like a territorial type force, ie non regular made up of sheep farmers etc or actually RF soldiers?
And why aren't they issued the SA-80?
because they are badass island protecting mutha f*ckas SHA'MONE!
This all looks pretty old, anyone know if they still use them?
(BTW they aint F88s)
they maybe!![]()
Australian made Steyrs are designated F88s.
I think they use normal Steyr AUG A1! Because i think Australia is not alowed to deliver to europe. They are only alowed to deliver to Countiers like New Zeeland, papa new guinea, indonesia,..
they are a TA like force the reason they did'nt by SA80 was the fO suplied the cash for new rifles and forgot to tell them to buy SA80 so they looked around and decided the steyr was the best for the job![]()
There were some rumours going around that they were planning to buy stingers and bofors bill as well for only 2000 islanders the falklands island goverment has an income of over £30 million from fishing licences alone
another reason not to join argentina that amount of cash would'nt covers a days intrest payments on the argentinas debt![]()
Was 'badly' intentionalOriginally Posted by FozzieBear
