    Default 18th-19th century French uniforms

For anyone interested in that period of history I found this site, it's presented in book format. All the text is in French but it has a lot of good pictures.

It's from a whole series of books from the 60's and 70's about uniforms, there are 2 books for WW1, 2 for WW2, some for the Middle Ages and the 19th century and several for the napoleonic era. There is also a series of two books which show the uniforms and armors from Antiquity to the seventies.

These are not the most accurate books though (but maybe the napoleonic ones are better than the others I don't know), but they are well-made and can prove useful.

Thanks for the link, it's nice to be able to read them this way as they have been out of print for decades.

Nice find. French Napoleonic uniforms were pretty elaborate, especially for the cavalry. Those illustrations look like they're on the money as far as accuracy goes. I don't know about uniforms from later periods, though.
