    So a few points.

-Number of frigates and destroyers would drop from 23 to 19 by 2020
-The Army will lose 7,000 personnel, the RAF 5,000, the Navy 5,000 and the MoD 25,000 civilian staff over the next five years.
    -Nimrod MR4 is axed.
    -Ark Royal axed.
    -Tanks/Artillery down by 40%
    -Carrier to be CATOBAR.
    -12 new Chinooks.
    -Harriers scrapped.
    -Refurbishing the Puma helicopters.
-Nuclear Warheads held down to 120 from 160
-Trident replacement to go ahead, but will carry only 40 warheads down from 48.

Says we loose either HMS Ocean or HMS Illustrious.
Loose 4 frigates as well as a Bay-class

    ..

    So navy looses

    RAF Harriers
    Ark Royal
    One Bay class
    Either Ocean or Illustrious
    4 Frigates

So really all this talk of only 8% "I saved the defence budget" stuff from Fox was bollocks?..

I'm speechless. I really don't know what to say, this is worse than I could have imagined. Once these decisions are implemented, we will not be able to rectify them for a decade. I'm just gutted...

I have the feeling Rosyth will go totally private.

The navy really has been fit hard, the Illustrious and the type 22's are gone.

You wouldnt keep the HMS Illustrious over the HMS Ocean as a helicopter ship, isnt that what Ocean was built for.
