They run out of gas and stop to repair some ****ed up mobilehome on a highway full of cars that were left in a hurry and are probably at least half full of gas and have plenty of space to drive around that nice "traffic jam" and the zombies blocking the road I mean come on its "the Apocalypse", nobody is going to jail you for damaging the highway barriers and driving on the grass beside the street !?!

That "Boondock Saints" guy is really saving the show for me at the moment ... I have come to the conclusion that its very enjoyable to see how the rest of the "crew" is putting him in danger with their incompetence, and than having him save the day with beeing hardcore

The motor home is following a guy in a motor cycle? Why doesn't the motorcycle do a little scouting so the motor home does not have to get into that mess? Why is the guy using a motorcycle in the first place?

To concentrate on the third question: He is the coolest character of them all, and can probably handle zombies like a medieval knight on his machine Which raises another question: Pikes, Spears, Lances ?! Pretty cool if you have rather slow zombies (compared to Romeros "Dawn of the Dead" at least) . They could probably kill them all off with long lances from the savety of their mobilehome roof ...

I think the motor home is a good idea, with the old school SUV, and the bike. Scout, home base, and the old school SUV for supply runs.

Hell, I couldn't stop looking behind the actors on the highway and seeing pickups full of $hit under tarps they didn't bother checking.

Also for the person saying they "don't have supplies/time" to fortify their vehicles... ****, that highway is a smorgasbord of crap to utilize.

And as someone else posted, I couldn't get into season one due to their idiotic crap, and season two is looking the same.

Its all good, I am glad to debate any and every aspect of the show.

When the zombie apocalypse comes, I'm not cruisin' a Prius.
Who said they should get a prius? fuel economy does not mean driving a hybrid electric, there are much better cars they could have picked up along the way. Even something with a lower displacement, or a diesel (okay I know diesel isnt as common in the US, but you can run a diesel on vegetable oil if necessary, and it gets much more MPG.) would be MUCH better, as they'd not have to stop as often to scavenge fuel.

Lack of necessary tools? Plus, not much time has passed since Rick met up with everybody in Atlanta. For them, it's only been a few days.
Its not exactly difficult to mount some wire mesh over some windows, even a half ar$ed job is better than nothing!

It's the way she's written? A character being abrasive and unlikeable doesn't mean she's a bad character.
Her character seems selfish and self-centered. Maybe not a bad character for a program, but definitely not a likely person you'd want in a group of people who are under immense stress. If she wants to top herself or go at it alone, I'd leave her to do so.

Time is probably a factor again. Plus, lack of a safe place to practice shooting without attracting zombies. I think the crossbow guy has the right idea weapon-wise.
In S1 they were at the canyon / quarry area, and were there for some time. Shane could have got taken the time to teach them basic weapon skills.

    To develop the characters?
    Or to waste time!

Been months since I've seen it, but if I remember correctly, they were being chased by zombies on the way in and running from a big, loud, zombie attracting explosion on the way out.
Running past a dead body and picking up a rifle doesnt take that long.

Holding on to the past; they remind him of when times were better? Not much time for clothes shopping? The gun's reliable and he trusts it?
The gun will reliably run out of ammo after 6 rounds. Keep it as a backup, but get a semi-auto with 15 rounds as primary. The dude is being a moron.

Most characters in zombie moves are. It's almost always the characters that cause they're own downfall, not the zombies. Infighting and stupidity are a hallmark of zombie fiction.
I cant disagree with that, I guess the stupidity just annoys me more so than other films/shows for some reason.

I just love the way Dale casually lies about the engine so he could keep them sitting on the road, in a place that got hit TWICE. Dunno, but if I were there those sort of traffic jam graveyards/buffets would scare the **** out of me. Especially after Atlanta.

Max Brooks put it nicely - roads mean cars, cars mean zombies.

Religion thing also got on my nerves a bit, but then again, if dead were walking I dont think Id be adverse to a bit of prayer here and there. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

Also, it doesnt seem so illogical to keep the uniform, if nothing it can at least serve to put some folks you meet on the road at ease, less willing to shoot and then ask the questions, considering that, with the breakdown of law and scarcity of supplies, there is probably all kinds of trouble prowling across the countryside besides zombies.

Familiarity plays a big part in peoples decisions making loop after a disaster...the sometimes overwhelming desire for "normal", especially in the face of constant death threat could explain the wearing the uniform too. Most folks that I know that have served in an uniformed capacity tend to take on the role more efficiently in their accustomed equipment. Rick is a great example...when he woke up he was in a hospital gown, one of the most least protective garments designed by mankind...it strips you of everything (by design). He gets home, everything he cares for is gone, and after being rendered helpless again, he cleans up, puts on his uniform, anf gets his ass in gear.

I don't know about you guys, but I always felt more ready for action in my BDU's and battle rattle...even if I only used my promask once and never fired an M203 round in anger, I still carried that sucker on my M16A2.

And the RV is a mobile secure sleeping option...and familiar.

i dunno, my wife and i watched the new episode again last night, she liked it and goddamn it's hard getting my woman to like stuff like that.

Maybe the writers are women and that is what the targeted audience is. I would be scrounging, so what is wrong with a APC? Tracked vehicles can go more places, Get a trailer for extra fuel. With a tracked vehicle, see Zombies, squish Zombies.

But I guess if the women viewers are happy, then so be it. SWMBO, must be obeyed.

Ok, lets do a logistics show of hands. How many random citizens can locate, aquire, refuel, operate, and maintain a tracked vehicle? Hell, I'd be willing to bet the Stryker is different enough from the M113s and Bradleys I drove that I'd be slowed down without a TM, if I could even get the damn thing unsecured from the motorpool...but the group is on their way to FT. Benning, maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised.

It's not just the zombies that have become braindead, the humans seems to have taken at least some severe braindamage. In other words, just like all other zombie movies.

Ingenuity, American ingenuity my dear man.

Don't know about Ft Benning, Green Beanie Zombies may be too much for our heroes.
In Atlanta where where abandoned armored vehicles. Or how about a Big Semi? A dude on a motorcycle? If your are driving a motor home, would you drive into a traffic mess and see if you can find a way through. NOPE. The motor home as you said, is a plus, well kind of.... it is always breaking down. There are probably newer and better ones setting around.
