I mean FFS, is gender-equality propaganda so important to some people that in order to 'balance out' the fact that the men have the main combat roles in the series; they have to stick some random kick-ass woman YouWouldNeverActuallyMeetInRealLife but which happen to always show up in Hollywood movies?
Moving the characters so far from the source material was a mistake. To say the least.

Hell even Glenn, he was crap at fighting in the beginning but took on all the missions, survived and thus got the experience under his belt...

Just finished watching the second season. I'm not sure why there is so much bitching about the show. Sure, there are some annoying things here and there but at the end of the day, this is the best thing that ever happened to the zombie-genre. If you rather go back to badly acted low budget zombie flicks, be my guest. But I love this show. And I think people should stop comparing it to the comics. They share name, some characters and events but the comic is not a TV-show and vice versa. The show is based on the comic, it's not an exact interpretation.
considering the almost 2000 posts in this thread I guess people generally enjoy the show.
but 2000 posts of "the show is great" and " I luv the show" would be boring
