French police and gendarmes walk behind search dogs in a forest in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, southeastern France, April 29, 2011, in connection with the discovery last week of the remains of five members of the Dupont de Ligonnes family in Nantes, western France. Police continue to search for the father, Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes, who they suspect of murdering his wife and four children and burying them in the garden in Nantes. Last week police found his car in a hotel car park in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, some 10 hours drive away, after bank withdrawals showed he was in the area.

Lance Cpl. Jon North, a 22-year-old dog handler from Osage, Iowa, observes the route ahead before sending out his dog, Cena, April 9. Relying mostly on their vehicles to hunt down roadside bombs, Marines have to dismount from them in some situations and use other tools to accomplish their mission.
