Default UN workers in Afghanistan told to pack up

The UN has said it wants some of its one thousand foreign staff to leave Afghanistan.

The United Nations has announced plans to withdraw foreign staff members from the area due to increased security threats and an escalation in violence.

UN officials have said the staff members will go to Kuwait until they are re-assigned.

Its S.O.P. for the U.N. to remove unarmed aid workers out of the line of fire, no matter which country the mission is in.

If local and N.A.T.O. security forces cannot guarantee their safety, then there is no reason to put their lives on the line.

Besides, they might spill their martini's and can no longer secure their access to western booze.
Kuwait is much better suited to their tastes.

Give them some credit for their jobs; low level employees don't get to attend diplomatic cocktail parties there. I know a U.N. employee who had to sleep in cars and dodge bullets in Bosnia. They did not sign up to fight wars.

    Fight wars?
    No.

Be in warzones, trying to broker peace?
    Yes!

Otherwise, in my humble opinion with my experience with the UN, what exactly are they good for? BBQ's and beach parties, expensive hotels and hookers.
On the brightside, they do contribute some to the local economy, but over all?
    Parasites.

It didn't start out that way, and it doesn't have to be that way now.
