Rainbow Six 3 for the PC and PS2
I've got Rainbow Six 3 for the PC, already and I've just watched a trailer for the PS2. And I'm just wondering, are they pretty much the same but on different platforms? or are they two kind of different games? I'm wondering wether to get it on the PS2 as that version looks so much better then the PC version.
Don't know much about the PS2 version - is it a port of the xbox version?
I have the PC (mac port) and xbox version- xbox is basically like the 'action' plan on the PC game (in that it skips the planning stage). You have one team of 4 guys with similar missions as PC version. You can't customize your team's gear, but you can customize your own weapons (fewer choices then PC though). There is no preplanning, but the team AI has been updated with the addition of voice commands....you can do all the same in-game team commands as the PC version. Also the graphics engine has been enhanced for xbox. I actually prefer the console version...the updates make for a more visceral experience.
Sorry if this doesn't apply to your question about PS2.
I love it for the xbox, took some getting used to with the controls but I love it now. I system linked it with a friend once, a whole new level to the game.
I have the newest one on Xbox: Black Arrow -- pretty sweet, more of the same, really--but I like the level design. I just wish they would've added more weapons!
gringo having played the rainbow six series for over six years now and having several friends who are raven shield development team members i can honestly tell you theres really not much difference between the pc and console versions of raven shield other than some slight cosmetic changes thrown in by the developers to keep the console versions fresh and interesting.
now that's not to put down the console version in the least bit because it fills its niche in the market which is to appeal to console gamers but if you did ask me to choose between the two i would time and time again tell you to go with the pc version of raven shield as in my opinion it's the best.
