That makes you to second highest ranking HV officer i know, i know a local Major.

You do any shooting on your own time, i assume you're a member of the reserve officer korps or something like that, means you can own all those military style Semi autos like the M1 Garand. (was a bad day i discovered you had to be a collector or officer to own it)

I do some pistol shooting once a week,i owne one Glock 17 and i have the spring for my AG-3 so i shoot with taht once and awhile, but on my wishlist i want:Colt 1911 45cal,and M1 Garand, and M1 Carabine (u.s carabine) and last but not least an bushmaster cal 5.56.
I am not shure on the facts about how to become an owner these rifles, but some of my fellow officers got both the Bushmaster and U.S carabine.
But if i remember correctly you have to be a colletctor to own the M-1 and the M-1 Carabine.
But i have to check it out beacuse i gotta have them,i mean they are beautiful weapons and the historic araound them are great.

I had a talk about it with the guy who runs a gun store right down the road. I said i wanted the M1 Garand, my grandfather served in Tysklandsbrigaden in 1952 and was issued it, and i really want one.
But as he said all M series weapons, M1, M1 carbine, M14 and such are classified as 'military style semi autos' and can be tricked out for full auto in 5 minutes with a nail file, and is illegal in norway for civilian ownership.

He said there was 2 options:
    1. Become a collector. And we both know that, with our beautifull gun laws, that takes time, dediation and a hell of alot of money.

    2. Join the army, become an officer, join the Resrv officer association (or something along those lines) and pay the yearly fee for the membership, and then you can own just about anything.

But isn't that big a deal, I've got a Mauser and a Krag Jørgensen, both ww2 veterans guns, coming my way one day. They're my Grandfathers, and since my aunt lives with a pacifist, there's only my me who'd be interested. But i have to get my hunting license first.

I might join the local pistol club, i just have to find the motivation and the cash to join the beginner training course. 750kr.- for the 2 hour course with both theoretical training and practical training, and that includes the first year membership payment. Pretty Sweet.

    The wish list:
    -Rifles
    Lee Enfield
    Mauser
    Krag Jørgensen
    Mosin Nagant
    M1 Garand

    -Pistols\Revolvers
    M/1914 Kongsberg Colt
    Glock 17
    Sig sauer 226
    Walther PP or PPK
A ruger .22, any competition shooter needs one
    Webley revolver

That's the main list anyway, my other Grandfather has a .22 BRNO rifle and a shotgun i'd might get once i get a hunting license.

Are you allowed to play with the AG3?
Didn't expect that. Privileges of the Officers.

    Wiking.

Yes we do,but only in the NROF training or competitions.

Btw nice list you wrote down.
You could join the HV by contacting your local district and talk to the P-Off.
I`ll guess you have to applie for a trancefere from you motherunit(rulleførende avdeling),and into HV as an voulentare.I did but that was back in 2000.
If not you may have to join your local veteranrifle forening and applie for a membership.
But the best way is (if still possible)Join Hv and applie for leader education, then you join NROF,and start shooting with the officers.
After six months of repeted visits on the range, you can applie for a pistol.
the rifles arent that far away aftre that.
If none of the latter works for you, work alot and make lots of money and start to collect.Call me when youo got the M-1 Garand and i come over.

I will check it out tomorrow, about the law around the M1`s.
