Mortars Light Up Now Zad Sky, Suppress Insurgents
Cpl. Ryan Thayer, a squad leader for 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, prepares to drop an illumination round into the M224 60 mm lightweight mortar tube as Cpl. Jonathan Roblespaul, a mortarman section leader with Alpha Co., ducks into a safe position at Combat Outpost Cafferetta, June 26. Mortars aren’t just effective when it means pushing the enemy from their positions during a fight. “We often fire illumination rounds just to show our presence, to let the enemy know that we are still here and have some muscle with us,” said Thayer.

Last night an observation post reported seeing some suspicious activity,” Thayer said. “We fired illumination rounds to let them know we see them, and if they want to keep putting IED’s in the ground, we are going to take them out.”

From mid-June the latest versions of the Rosomak Wolverine will gradually start to reach the region. It has been strengthened and is better equipped, to increase the safety and security of while moving Polish troops.

The Vehicles are equipped with devices to enable the installation of U.S. equipment "Duke" to disrupt the detonation of improvised explosive devices. The upgraded vehicles also have a tracking system so the location of troops is known at all time (Blue Force Tracker).
The most striking change, which has been subjected to Roski, is a different color camouflage. Traditional green has now been replaced by the color of the desert.
The Vehicles were transported by air to Bagram base, where they are based with the main Polish base in Ghazni.

amazing start guys,great photos
Do they wear helmets because they are in those small buggy's, or just to look cool?
Cose if I had to driver over beach on a hot warm sunny day, I would trow my helmet in the back and wear something more suitable like a cap.
A other small question, I once heard there are dates in the US armed forces when you roll up your sleaves, and when you lower them. Is that trough?
We can decide with the unit if we raise them or lower them. Just wondering.
Thanks for the awesome photos guys! keep them coming!
