I've just bought a 122mm for the IS... and I hate it - it's slow and the ammo is over 1000 credits per shot... wtf.

thats the only gun its effective with, make sure u get the latest 122, i think it fires faster, and use regular AP they cost more than HE, but do more damage, even though in description it says otherwise. Go for heavier targets and make sure your shots count, Btw in IS3 ull use same gun but with higher penetration, ammo cost will be the same but your tank repair will go up to 18k, and so far i find it harder to make money that with IS1. Need another 500k till i get my IS4 and finally be more effective.

are you using any of the optional equipment and can tell me which ones are worth the 500000 credits?
I was thinking of getting the one for faster reload time and armor bonus but am not sure if they really help all that much or if you can transfer them to other tanks?
edit: btw... I dunno - I was kinda more effective with 100mm - I've gotten pretty good games with up to 5 kills on a regular basis before - now I kinda sometimes have a hard time killing stuff since even a Panzer 4 won't go down with one shot and reload time is brutal.

Probably happening in a week or two, saw Mr.Vicc say that the soft wipe will.

1. Refund all XP you have into free XP.
2. Refund all credits you currently have in equipment back into credits.
3. I believe he said you will keep your modules aka, camo, spall lining, etc (the 500K/250k ones).

Good news about the free xp I guess. Is that the xp you have accumulated or just what you have on tanks at the time? I've made about 700k xp in total.

It will be your total for the whole game, so you can buy your old tanks, but crew will start from 50%. after 110% crew, its really gross PITA. Anyway i suggest to try something new before release. After driving around in T-44, i opened Panther tree, and this b/tch rocks. 88 is a best "all in all" gun in a game.

I've never tried the 88 since I've played mostly only Soviet tanks and TD by now, but judging by the stats I'd also say that's the best allround gun in the game.
I'm not sure about what to do with the experience and credits once they reset.
I guess I could buy an IS-3 right away - or a SU-152 (killer gun)... not sure if I should buy German tanks - I did want to try the Tigers but the IS-4 and IS-7 kinda are more intereresting than the Maus and the one before it (damn numbers for names - can't remember which is which )

The 88 is a great gun.

Had an awesome game earlier. One of the dead players watching commented "I want a vk3002db now!". It was on Murovanka and for some reason none of my team went through the woods at the start and they met the enemy head on in the village. I zoomed through the woods and came up behind the enemy and took out 7 of them including 2 of their arty camping on the hill. I barely stopped to take aim.

The 88 is really a great gun the only problem is that u do only 10% of damage in tanks like the King tiger ou IS-4, but u still can bite the maus shooting in the back of him, i have a tiger and i never saw a tank that i could bite with the last 88 gun, the only problem is the damn reload if u got ur loader down or ammo rack damage u are really doomed to reload.

I managed to one shot a King Tiger that was on about 96% with the 88. It was extremely lucky and he reversed a few seconds before blowing up so I can only assume I managed to set something on fire.
