Well if you pay 20$ to become a "founder" you get into open beta.
I would only recommend that though if you dont care too much about that money because its somewhat repetetive with only 3 playable maps yet. Game mode is so far same principle as WoT (capture a certain area with your team, enemy team has to do the same etc.).
But there is no tedious grind through the tiers as in WoT. You are competetive right from the start.
I'm in the MWO beta. It will be tedious and grindy, trust me. Right now all the rewards are inflated for the sake of testing.

Pz38t, 8 kills! I love that little machine. Great combination of speed and power. DB, with better engine.. its ok. But still too slow to fight close, have to learn to use 88 and get every skill and app to speed up the loading.
Guy in our clan runs a loltrktor fully upgraded, with gold ammo. He said it is nothing for him to get 10+ kills a match.
My fav was the 35t until they nerfed it a few patches back.
I'm a big fan of my KV-2. I know we're supposed to be using the t-150 if we use the 107, but it just doesn't feel the same. I ended up ditching the 150 and sticking with my old kv-2, haven't regretted it once.
I havent use any gold in WoT. Tonight I was so close of 10 kills. Last two buggers died without my permission by some other dudes cannon. You know the moment when you have your target zeroed and on the same moment you shoot.. the tank blows up. Leaving you to hit the burning wreck.
Gold ammo would be fun to try. Actualy, I dont have any skills or equipment on my Pz38t. Have to fix that tomorrow. But, still it works so well.

What are your user names and what server? I platoon a bit with Elbs, a mod from here and a few other guys including Rhino.
I got five kills in a clan wars match the other day. Had to resort to gold rounds as we were under the pump. Made all the difference.
My tip, don't use gold for low tiers, better off using gold for a premium account and grinding hard.

What is HE ammo for? There are no soft targets after all!
Also, is there a way to play with one side taking one nationality (Soviets vs Germans etc).
It is sort of weird to have a wild mix of multinational tanks fighting another wild mix....
Also, I do suck much, my average life expectancy is measured in seconds and that is even reinforced by driving around in a 37mm Panzer IIIA among all those medium tanks....
HE rounds if placed right can put an enemy's cannon out of commission or track their vehicle. If you are shooting at a tank two tiers below you it can be devastating the amount of damage they will inflict.
Got the stock ST1, really like it. Looking forward to upgrading. Even I am starting to use gold shells, now that I am fighting against Maus, E100. It's the only way to do damage to those beasts with a stock ST1. At 5 cents a pop, I can see this adding up until I get the BL cannon.
