    Default Nexter unveil XP2

After being unveiled at Eurosatory - there couldn't be photographed - the technology demonstrator XP2 Nexter is preparing to initiate a second round of tests to characterize the chain mobility. During these endurance tests, the XP2 will be brought to its limits by operating on very varied terrain (sand, mud, various roads and paths).

During the first season which ran from November 2009 to April 2010, the XP2 has already demonstrated exceptional reliability and quality of road and all roads. The train, designed by the consulting firm Nexter Versailles-Satory combines compactness and lightness in the service performance target.

Moreover, the architectural choices and technologies used make it possible to offer in a particular vehicle road width of 2.55 m or more ergonomic than the 8 × 8 most recent, much larger. The XP2 is primarily a demonstrator - this is not a solution in itself for the EBRC or VBMR.

It may just be the perspective the photo was taken from, but does it look a bit top heavy to you guys?

Its just a technology demonstrator ( motor, mecanism, electronic), the design will be change or Nexter will use parts of this prototype for another vehicle. The GIAT Vextra was a demonstrator in 1994.

It is not for 'trip wires'. It is to cut cables rigged across the road to behead driver of vehicles who have their heads raised out of the driver's hatch.
