A Hellenic Navy patrol boat firing with Rheinmetall Mk20 Rh202, S20 Naval mount in Aegean Pelagos during exercise at sea.
Due to its small installation dimensions, the low recoil forces of the weapon, as well as its low combat weight the S 20 pintle mount is primarily intended for the armament of small fast boats and for the secondary armament of larger vessels, as well as for static applications ashore. The mount is operated by one gunner who stands upright within the complete laying range of the mount. This enables a quick and non-fatiguing combat of ground and aerial targets. The additional elevation locking device facilitates the engagement and tracking of targets even during severe movements of the ship.
