The problem will remain...the IRB limits the reviews in certain situations, while not taking to account whole game phases. The way the game is played is different too. I had this discussion with a couple of american posters. What we need is a professional body of Refs not a CCTV on pitch. However if we were to use a video replay in Footbal, it better be a total approach with a Screen Referee spotting out any single foul on the ground and no refs on the pitch at all.

If you want to kill the human factor you better do it good or don't do it at all.Italy Slovakia remains the very proof Video can and will be inconclusive in such cases.

Anyone remember the MAradonna - Müller incident?

Diego is so full of himself.

I'd like to see a challenge system like the NFL has with some limitations.

-Each team has one challenge per half.
-It can only be used on disputed goals/non-goals where the play has already been stopped.
-Indisputable evidence needed to overturn the call on the field.

I'd also like to see a real-time clock. I'm sick of the bull**** "Fergie-time" that gets added on for favored teams.

Realtime clock? Like in the NFL when they chat for 50 minutes and play for 10?
That's what I was thinking. Listen either the refs get out of the game and the game has a justice, either you keep Video umpires out of the stadium. Half assed decisions won't cut it.

In fact, the one time they lifted the cup they scored a controversial goal (that shouldn't have counted), and had goal line technology existed then it would have changed the game. And while everyone with a set of eyes could tell that the goal didn't cross the line, it's hilarious enough to note that the linesman who made the bad call in the first place is actually a praised celebrity to some football fans, insinuating that bad calls are all good and dandy. But now we all of a sudden need goal line technology? Lawl. At least Geoff Hurst came out recently and admitted that the goal was dubious. Only took him 44 years. They have their cake and now they're planning on eating it.
Yeah, cause it's not like technology has changed since then or anything. It happened 18 years before you were born. Get the f*ck over it. Your argument is basically "sh*tty calls and gross errors are tradition, they're part of the charm of the sport". When the entire stadium and world can watch it within 2 seconds there is no excuse for letting sh*t calls stand.

I've said it at least twice: it's not about killing the human factor. I think we all agree the human element is unavoidable and part of what makes sports so interesting. It's about putting a lid on the arbitrary and inconsistent manner in which the game is officiated. I'd also like to echo Jobu's suggestions for improvement.

So far, I've yet to see any real argument against it.

This would just increase the diving and time wasting in my opinion.

Other than that, the suggestions are sound.

Blatter warns France, Sarkozy not to interfere

By GRAHAM DUNBAR (AP) – 1 hour ago

JOHANNESBURG — FIFA president Sepp Blatter warned French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Tuesday that his country's team risks suspension from global tournaments if he meddles in the running of the national soccer federation.

LOL. That would be the icing on the cake. Finally a new trainer, and an international suspension to follow.

    Well done politicians, well done...

I just don't see a Frenchman suspending the French team on behalf of a French organisation.

Quality sucks? I tried your Tavern on the green and feel sleep after the entrees.

Just a question, why do you call it Football? I know, I am flaming, but I don't get why NFL always come to football threads.

The time I lived in the States, I always argued because people always said it was a men's sport, I used to answer showing my Rugby scares.

He might be full, but have you been the best on anything? If I were, I might be full of it myself too.

I got only one. If you put the Video in, get the refs out of the way.

We got sound telemetry and optronic features to stop relying on the human refs. Period. I got nothing against anything unil it stays honest...100% or nothing.

Then you'll witness what football wil become.
