    My opinion has changed.
I don't think he'll ever outdo Gretzky but he carries the entire NHL on his back as a posterboy right now. He is the face of modern hockey.
If I were him, whenever anyone criticized me, I'd clank my gold medal against my Stanley cup and walk away laughing.
He has yet to change my mind. And the league has done well without him. I'm glad he is healthy and playing. He is a remarkable talent but poster boy? Carrying the league? Face of modern hockey? I don't get it.

Bruins better pull their sh*t together. Great shootout win vs Philly a few days ago will hopefully get them on track.

Name someone else in the NHL with a bigger profile than Crosby.

Bigger profile? I really don't care. He can have the biggest profile but he doesn't "carry the league." The league has not faltered in his absence. The Pens stumbled but did not falter either. They are still a strong team with depth of skill and leadership without him. No one man carries a league. A team at best.

I would say he is a divisive character. For everyone that loves him (Very rare outside of 'Burgh from my observation) 2 or 3 or 10 powerfully dislike and even more are ambivalent. He is no Gretzky, Lemieux, Yzerman, or even a Forsberg or Lindros. All of those captains had near universal respect throughout the league and as fans, most had to admire them. Even as a Wings fan I was in awe of Forsberg's skill and physicality yes, but I also had to respect the way he played. No matter how badly the league would like it, I don't think he will ever be a widely appealing character or do for the game what Jordan did in basketball, Ruth in Baseball, Gretzky in hockey last generation etc.

I hope a "posterboy" would be someone more like an Iginla, Staal, Toews, Chara, Lidstrom. Alfredson, Doan etc. Those are guys I would point at and tell my son "That's how you play! That's how you win, that's how you behave in defeat, that's how you work and earn respect."

Things started and are ending ugly this regular season but this is a stunning acheivement.
The Swede has never played a season that didn't have a post season. That is amazing.

Preds went into the 3rd tied at 0 with Dallas, ended up 2-0 winers tonight, last home game. Was nice to pull it out, was getting worried. Went barhoppin and caught the game.
One more...fighting to be in 4th in West at the finish.

    Radulov!

Preds need to do it this year, I think they are 10-1 to win the Cup. Heard on the radio this week.

He dropped a F bomb that caused him to get the 20,000 fine. It's actually 10,000, the other half can be redeemed if he's on good behaviour.

I truly believe Orpik intentionally tried to take out the guy's knee, yet Crosby, the coach will keep quiet about it until karma decides to strike them back. Instead of keeping quiet about it, Crosby should have addressed it and at least say it was an accident, unintentional, Stepan moved last second and we regret that incident happened. It's a display of guilt if the root cause was not addressed.

If Crosby defends the act, he is wrong. Orpik has a history of suspensions and this was utterly indefensible intent to injure a regional rival heading into the playoffs. They were up 4-1, there was absolutely no call for this. If Crosby condemns him everyone will see through it because he likes to cheapshot as well.

I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see a Ranger player "address" this next season a la McCarty and Lemeuix after his hit on Drapes.

Preds look good but I'm hoping the Wings slow them down. That's the first round match. Goodluck!
    Not too good though

we got some really good teams, I can't predict who might win it. Pens, Flyers, Wings, Preds, Bruins and Canucks ... maybe Ottawa as well.

Rangers and Pens look really really good for the East. I predicted Boston early but I would not make the same guess today.
In the west, Vancouver is only better than they were last year. St. Louis is strong too. Wings, if they start playing topflight again will be unstoppable. But their season has been so hot and cold who knows what team will show up. Franzen, Zett, Datsyuk have been turning it up lately. Young guys are performing (Filpula, Hudler etc). If Howard and the Swede stay healthy we have a shot but it will mean learning to win on the road which we haven't done all season.

Next year we should do head to head as it's really is the only way to play. No IR limit, more categories, roster spots.

    4 Centers
    4 RW
    4 LW
    2 wingers
    2 forwards
    4 Dmen
    2 Goalies
    4 bench
