I think it is the pads that have glazing in them. I got new ones and today testing those.

I watched the first moto of 250 class! Awesome! Just the racing I have been wating. I hope Marvin Musquin will get his hand in better shape soon. Terrible for Tyla Ratray, got a chance of a lifetime on Kawi.. and broken arm now.

Yea, I was expecting more from Musquin. Really bummed for Rattray! I know he wanted to be on 450s so badly.

Stewart won again yesterday, but Dungey kept him honest!

    Hitting the trails tomorrow.

Stewart is just awesome at the moment. Four motos without any real mistake and speed is out of this world. Dungey is fighting good but I dont think that he can win anything without JS7´s mistake. There was talk about YZ450F that it is bike that makes very wierd moves and could throw you away without any hints. Something to do with frame geometry and engine that is turned around. JS7 was fast on JGR Yamaha.. but now on RM-Z he is just relaxed, focused and fast.

About 250-class, you just cant say anything about it. Fight is awesome! Always great to see Barcia and Roczen side by side. Musquin is coming back in few weeks. He is not like Roczen but more like Pourcel, coming slow and taking everybody with suprise.

That no spring, no oil suspension is weird. Kawi at least got oil in the new forks.

p.s. I am testing some 250s, in the coming weeks there will be a new bike. Contenders are: 10' Husqvarna TE-250, 10' Yamaha WR-F250, 10' HM CRE-F250R, 11 GasGas EC-250F Six Days and 12' KTM EXC125 (I think about the TM-EN250Fi but I am scared the parts prices will be astronomical and the reliability not so good)

Having a little problem. Bike started to be little lazy and lacked torque. Checked the valve clearance, they were a bit off (in top limit of 0,20mm). So I decided to clean them before reshimming. Oh crap, exhaust spring is broken! (Lucky me! nothing big broken, only that one inside spring) Ok, took my workshop manual to see what is the part number of that spring just to see that in 2007 KTM SX-F there is supposed to be only one conical spring.. and in my hand Im having two springs for one valve. Tomorrow is going to be another Sherlock Holmes day to find out what springs Im having in my cylinder head. I hope they are just 2008-20xx springs, 8 euros per inner spring. Those conicals are 50 euros each and some special springs.. I have to buy a whole set to have my head done right. Spring holders and retainers were not stock 2007 model neither.

Im pretty happy that I hear and feel even the small changes in my bikes behaviour. Have saved a lot of money during the years. Stuff like cracked piston, unbalanced cranksaft, broken carb., loose cam chain, electronic stuff..

    Nice video!

I hate my local KTM dealer.. guy tried to sell me first SXS-springs 130e/each, then whole set of 2007 conical springs with valves and everything.. only 400 euros, for you my friend! Ok.. Il check that do I really need those SXS-springs. My bike actualy had SXS-springs. But no SXS-cams, so no need of the springs neither.

Today I called this other firm that is in good reputation. Their mechanic said that I can use 2008 and later springs in my head. 20e each with retainers and holders. I still wanted to talk with this mechanic and asked him that is it true that I can use those cheaper springs without any special work. Just because this other guy said that you cant. This mechanic said that.. wait. I call you later, I call to KTM Nordic and ask their guy.

Mechanic called me back and said that it is ok! So.. repair that first costed 520e, costs me 80e. Tomorrow I will get those springs. 150km drive to get those. With post it will take untill next wednesday.

Sad part in this story is that. On saturday on our local track there is training camp with Jussi Vehviläinen as coach who will look how you ride and tries to correct possible mistakes and bad moves you make. Guy has been 3. in MX3 GP and twice 3. in MXDN riding for Team Finland. Could not say how dissapointed I am.

    So I ended up testing some bikes today: 12 KTM 125, 12 KTM EXC250, 08 WR-F250 and a 12 Husaberg FE-390.
Maybe the test bikes weren't setup properly for me but it felt like the new frame and ergonomics isn't for me on the KTM, just couldn't ride smoothly and enjoy the bike and it felt like the suspension isn't working very well.
The WR-F250 reminded me why I don't like 4T, the engine braking disturbs me and I loose my ability to flow. Apart of that, great frame and suspension.
The FE-390 was just superb, from the moment I sat on it that machine was amazing and I felt right at home. It's nimble, accurate, strong, engine braking is mellow and the suspension is plush. A masterpiece. Why is it so expensive?

Ergonomics are so personal on everybody. For me a bike might feel like a locomotive.. untill I change handlebars like 1mm to inside and everything is different and I find my flow and speed. Then with speed brakes and suspension starts to work. This is one case that Im afraid if I have to change a bike. How many hours do I have to wander to find the right setup. Like this summer.. my rear shock is more stiffer. So my rear was higher and I fought my hands to arm pump all the time. Untill I changed bars a bit I found relaxing style again. Bloody engine gave up now.

Got all the parts but valve spring base plate was too small from inside. In 2008 SX-F valve guide is 11mm and in 2007 it is 12mm. I managed to drill 3 but I shattered one. Very hard steel.. so it will take to monday to get parts machined. It is just not easy, never.

I was faster on the new 125 because of the fantastic engine, the suspension just did not give me the confidence to ride harder.
I was told by some racer there that you either love or hate the FE-390 and if you love it than it will be the best bike you ever rode.

KTM is really investing money on the 125cc bikes. I think TM also developing their bikes too. Husaberg, havent seen many of those. But only good things I have heard about them. Im not sure but isnt new 125cc KTMs with linkage? Not even enduro ones with PDS? Just because those PDSs are very hard on you on wrong sag and spring setup. But when it is working, it is good. I had hard time to clear jumps and to brake when I had wrong spring.

By the way. In motocross when there is fast section before a jump. Do you guys hit the brake before jump or slow down with engine braking only or prejump before the lip of the jump or what? Im not into this scrub thing yeat. But I want to hit faster on those big jumps and not over jump them. At the moment I just come full throtle and then half way up the face of the jump I gently let go of the throtle so my flight geometry comes lower and I can hit the throtle again faster when Im on the ground. My brother who is usualy my mechanic says that my technic is lower but I jump faster and longer than other guys of my level who comes fast with open throtle and jumps UP! and down with steep landing. I rather be fast and smooth than just amazing looking with lots of air.
