I would think they are willing to work with the UN in peacekeeping missions. Having equipment painted up should mean they are ready to serve.

Honestly, this just doesn't strike me as the most likely explanation.
Sure, it could happen, but it means that the battle strategy involves getting a UN peacekeeping mission deployed to Iran and then using this force as a cover for attacks on whoever the enemy is. It just seems overly convoluted IMO. And anyways, why would they publicly display it if their entire strategy was to decieve?
Now, most everything we seen in this parade every year that is beyond your basic tank from the geographically local units are put on parade for a very specific political purpose. For instance, earlier this year we saw the "IR-300" long range SAM as well as mock-ups/prototypes of the stealth attack drones. There is no way that this move is NOT a political signal from Iran, whatever signal that might be.
