x2 the weather (mostly because of the roads in the hills where I can shoot) and being able to have some time away from work and the family.

I suck at shooting stuff - I'm really good at getting behind cover.

All in all, probably a better skill to have.

Workerbee, He219 and I have access to a range that will allow up to 50 yrds, movements and holster draws.

Well, since there seems to be renewed interest, maybe we can do the 10-8 test and Hackathorn Standards. Opinions?

I'm down for whatever. By the time we decide. I'll have my MnP updated with Apex Tactical DCAEK.

If we have enough participation, we could have 3 separate divisions for the 3 separate par times. But considering the lack of participation on the rifle competition...it doesnt look good. James can create a new thread and have a Poll option for par time.

That sounds good. Last time I did it I used the 6.5 par time and scored pretty well.

That sounds fine to me. Keeps everyone on one standard and if you use a timer you can oust your actual times. In case some members don't have access to standard IDPA targets, I suggest we call it a "Modified 10-8" and allow other silhouettes with rectangular A Zones.

ETA: Let remember what gear we use also, be it concealed, duty, or tactical, and mention that in whatever results we post.

As per the carbine shoot, I dont have access to IDPA targets. Just regular B-27.

Hackathorn Standards (from Ken Hackathorn, pistolero and trainer extroirdinare)

3 IPSC targets 1 meter apart and staggered heights.

5 yards - 1 round to each head freestyle. 3 secs
5 yards - 1 round to each head strong hand only. 4 secs
5 yards - 1 round to each body strong hand only. 3 secs twice

8 yards - 2 rounds to the body left target. 2 secs
8 yards - 2 rounds to the body middle target. 2 secs
8 yards - 2 rounds to the body right target. 2 secs

    10 yards - El presidente 10 secs
10 yards - Weak hand pick up (pistol on ground, butt strong side. Flip pistol with weak hand and fire 1 round per target to each body.) 5 secs

12 to 8 - Shoot on the move, 2 to each body 5 secs

15 yards - transition drill, 1 to each body 4 secs

    20 yards - standing to ****e, 2 to each body 10 secs

25 yards - using vertical cover and tactical order, 2 to each body tactical/retention reload, kneeling, 2 to each body. 24 secs

    The score is out of 300. 5 points for an A, 3 points for a C and 2 points for a D
You can watch vids of the qual on Kyle Defoor's site.

I shot this course of fire twice, quite some time ago, and my best was 250.

Roll with it, just mention it in any results you post (that will help us feel better if you shoot a very high score - we can tell ourselves "Yes, but he was shooting on an easier target).
