But in the dreaded event of the gunner going down, how practical will it be to retrieve his ammo?
Video just makes a lot of bang.

Not just that but you have a full belt of ammo hanging out the side, and then look at how he moves. All we need is more crap impeding movement.

Great concept, however I have to be critic on the sense that when walking under heavy vegetation, it would get snag and possibly make things difficult.

Also a fantastic PT exercise dismounting a vehicle.

It is real easy to move in a demo where you are not scooting through building or tight alleyways, or entry and exit of a vehicle or heli.....or trying to haul ass across an open field...and then hit the deck with that load on your back...............yeah....nice idea, but I would like to see a DMG in action.

I saw a similar concept in a diorama about the Rangers in Somalia

Ugh, it's not available in my country due to UTM or whatever.

I'm assuming he has ammo in his assault pack linked into his weapon?

A comment on the video says the pack carries 500 rounds, and the feed chute holds 75 rounds........

@flanker7: chances are you took that pic at a Ft. Bragg Museum. IIRC it depicts a Delta operator during Operation Just Cause in Panama. Hence the OD jungle fatigues.

Nothing really new in this. The Original AR10 sales film showed a Light Machingunner with a similar set up for a Belt Fed AR10 derivative

I'm guessing that sand test was done with the dust cover closed.

That would be a good guess since they mention it in the video......
And that is the Purpose of a Dust Cover...........
