If your schools make them all into productive young Australians then everyone wins. If they don't, that's your problem. Really, regardless of immigration policy immigrants tend to cluster into communities, so you'll always have SOME schools where immigrants outnumber locals.

Being against unchecked immigration and illegal aliens in general does not make someone a bigot but using that term liberally is the biggest name calling conversation ending tool that small thinkers tend to use in these circumstances. One success story does not mean a repeat will be as successful especially as the labor demands and population losses that post-war period are drastically different today.

It's a kilt and according to a recent advert it was never welcomed onto the Australian workplace - if you see the ad for Four and Twenty Pies it is actually quite funny - but then again if it was a muslim wearing a Burqa walking into things - that would be bigoted!

No you are 100% right I am British born and bred in Scotland. The major difference and this is where it becomes really funny is that I assimilate into society as best that I can but I am a bigot against those who come into the country and bang on about bigots and racism but who are the very people who stay within their own communities, speaking their own languages and employing their own ethnic communities - but yet regardless of all of this I am the one who is bigoted towards them - it is absolute hypocrisy at its best when you look at it.
Besides Strykes there is a difference - Australia was colonised (conquered to be more practical) by Britain. Exactly the same as England was conquered by the Normans way back in 1066. What is happeneing now is not a conquering but a slow breeding out process by the ethnic groups who are arriving and having numerous children (no one can deny a much higher number than the traditional Australian families have) and as a result in 50 years the Australian's who have a proud history, albeit a short one, will be very much in the minority.
Perhaps they stay within their own communities because of all the grumpy old scots about. But yes well done for supposedly integrating into a white majority English speaking country must have been a huge change from Scotland.

When I arrived via 5 years in NZ in 1991, yes you are correct it was easy to integrate within a white majority English speaking country. Where I live now on the outskirts of Sydney, no I am not in the majority as that has quickly been overtaken by Indian and Chinese ethnicities. It's like Where's Wally just trying to pick out someone who is not from one of these ethnic groups. Good thing these types hang around where the perceived money is, it means that once I have had enough I will just move to the country
What's so bad about being surrounded by Indians and Chinese though? From my observations most Asians in Australia have jobs, obey the law, make an effort to speak English and are generally good people. I'd rather live in a suburb with them than in a suburb with unemployed dole-bludging bogans with Southern Cross tattoos, 6 kids, a clapped out Commodore ute and a dog.
