This is about the first thread I've suscribed to in months or even years. Wanna keep me updated, to maintain the illusion a different ending might be in the works.

I recalled posting a link here to fan-fiction on Deviantart, re-writing the ending. That post seems to be gone, mysteriously gone. I'll post it again.

Honestly, both Kai Leng duels were completely lame. For some highly-trained former N7 who's the [second] best assassin in the galaxy, I don't know if taking him down in under a minute with only my Valkyrie assault rifle did him any real justice. Not to mention that when I did kill him, it didn't trigger the cinematic as his two Nemesis troopers were still well alive and kicking. Poor shame for what should have been a great character. So in that case...

Kai Leng is a pussy and his death was nothing short of merciful.

I didn't read the books where he is said to appear him, but found he was a completely unnecessary (and unbearably gay) character. And then... Wakizashis?! Really?

Kai Leng is IMO the most unbearably obnoxious character in the entire Mass Effect trilogy. Its as if anime and ME crossed over for a split second and he managed to jump ship.

Anime always seems to seep into great series, in this case literally into a main feature. I'm pretty sure they are making an anime video about some of the characters. I don't have enough energy to be angry about it as all my focus is on the royal F%@k up they did to the game.

My Infiltrator near 1-shotted him with the Geth sniper rifle But yeah, he was kinda meh character wise.

I'm still not understanding why most people think the only problem really is the ending though :S Apart from character convo's and some of the main quests - which were good, though linear, I thought it was pretty average game overall

It's not the only problem. But the cluster **** of an ending just blows everything else away.
