I've finished the game and am trying to play it again but there's no replayability in the game.

I can't do it, just too boring now.

Ok, it was fun while it lasted

I still can't get into this game. I have tried and tried and tried.

All the elements I loved about the other Mass Effect and Bioware games are just missing. For example, running around and having proper dialogues with your crew members. A lot of the levels are just bland (with the exception of the Taurian Moon level), and a real step backwards, especially from some of the awesome DLC that came at the end of Mass Effect 2.

The dialogue is real shoddy and seems childish, as if its written for the lowest common denominator. There are lots of parts that ruin the suspension of disbelief. It just all seems so disjointed and characters thrown in there for no good reason other than to make an appearance.

The Codex is useless. Has the feeling of just been thrown in there. Compare it to the Dragon Age codex for example which is rich in lore.

People *love* this game (except for the ending), but I am finding it average at best. I keep going back to much lower budget strategy games because Mass Effect 3 is boring to me. Maybe I am getting jaded with PC gaming these days?

Just my two cents... Gameplay-wise ME3 surpassed its predecessors - the perfect balance between RPG elements (of which ME1 had too much) and action (of which ME2 had too few). Story-telling and dialogues had some weak parts. None of which troubled me as much as the illogical ending, though.

I'd say that this summed up my experience as well. ME1 had my favorite gameplay while ME2 had an even better story, ME3 was a perfect combination of the two.

I don't know. I find the story so bland that I just want to skip the story elements. The fighting doesn't seem that great either.

The AI is a bit smarter and such, tactically, but your squad mates are hopeless and the level design thus far has not had a lot of immersion.

Not as far as I'm concerned. ME1 had the better story (dealing with the things on Noveria and Feros, the assault on Virmire, the grand race to Ilos... terrific!), but suffered from a number of half-cooked RPG elements (such as the unsortable inventory) and the poor level design of everything except the main quest line: Those missions with the MAKO - Jesus Christ! No variation, no dialogues, no bugger all. Just the same type of building on the same type of horribly designed planet filled with the same damn bunch mercs again and again and again. During my last playthrough I didn't even collect metal deposits or artifacts anymore because it was so extremely boring.
ME2 was a little bit more immersive than that, though it wasn't such a bright example of story-telling either - you get a squad-member, do them a favour (kill their father/brother/friend/ex-squadmember/(...)), you get a squad-member, do them a favour, (...), you go on a suicide mission. Oh well. And to add insult to injury, the loyality missions of your squad-members are altogether awefully smiliar.

Well... there's no accounting for taste and always another opinion. While some parts of the story required lots of good will on behalf of the player, I found others were really enveloping. Have you, for example, already reached the point when Mordin dies?

I'l admit that I agree with you to a point. Last month was the first time I played ME2 since I beat it when it came out and it made me realize how much better the game was just right after I finished ME1 in January. ME1's story was just fantastic though and will always remain as my favorite.

    I disagree.
Mass Effect 3 was too much a shooter on rails for my taste. This whole turn to "more action" and thus less story or even "we choose for you, you just watch cutscenes" is a very bad turn for Mass Effect imo. There are different games for that kind of thing.

editor-in-chief and PS3 chief editor quoting Casey Hudson and saying that he lied while b*tching about the ending more than BSN ever could.

    Nice find.

After reading all the reviews from games (here and other places), I´m glad stuck by my decision not to buy the game. Bioware seems to be determined to mess up their major franchises.

It's not just Bioware but you can smell EA's hands all over it too, not just their interference but the pressure of making such a game with the harsh deadlines that come with making anything for EA. You could for sure see the changes for casual gamers in ME2 and its **** story and writing compared to the first game. I'm not even going to play ME3 probably ever. People also to bitch about how horrible Dragon Age 2 was but honestly the first Dragon Age game was absolute ****ing **** of a game too.

EA, Activision and are different company but the same monster. A giant monster of ****.
