Oh Jesus.
So they've either gone full on retard - or want to lure fans into buying the "happy end"-containing Mass Effect 4 already in the works. Either way it's a disgrace.

Pretty sure it won't be mass effect 4, but will be an MMO set in the universe. If all the endings pretty much end the same way then I assume the reason they said keeping your ME3 save would be for choices in your version of the universe in the MMO.

Either way they're really up to milking the franchise to death. Pathetic.

played it for over 10 hours now . Some scenes, locations, missions etc turned out really well - others were really bad.

I really hate how they've cut down on dialogues - most of the time you talk to your crew or get side missions etc you just hear them talk - no cutscene, no interaction. Side missions are the worst - you don't even talk to the people - most of the time you just overhear them talking or something.
Liked what they did with a few of the old characters - didn't like what they did with... or rather to... some other old characters.

So far the only improvement I see is the purgatory club - the dancers have a smoother and more interesting dance routine than the clubs on Omega in ME2

I've got the feeling EA killed yet another sucessful franchise - too bad considering ME2 was one of my all time favorite games.

Think I played it for about 10 hours before I jacked it in.

Cutscene; run down corridor; enter space with suspicious amounts of cover; cue music; fight; music ends; contact won; rinse; repeat.

I just saved you a few hours of your life, that you will be really grateful for when you're wheezing out on your deathbed.

Not going to finish it until something is improved (which may be never). I agree with Hitler on this one.

I'm through with it. Holy Cow.
Feels like you'd been following twenty-four seasons of the Simpsons only to see Bart die in the last episode.
ME is about the only video game I ever found truly immersive and as silly as it may sound, I shall just pretend that ending never happened. Which is particularly sad because, minus a few idiotic things here and there, it turned out to be a good game.

This game just doesn't have me hooked like the others did.

I find the story is just lame. It's like some cheesy B grade action movie.

I'm also worried about the end.

My suggestion: Call it quits right before you go "through that door". You'll know when you'll see it.

Some people suggest Bioware might have a different ending DLC in the works. I bet five bucks that such a DLC would not be free.

Anyone saved Kaiden in ME1? is he as annoying as Ashely is in ME3?

Anyway, like most people here, i thought ME3 was quite good up until the ending. the ME universe in general is one of the most immersive and engaging game worlds i've ever seen and after following Shepard and his crew in 3 games, i feel that the fans deserve a better ending. not necessarily a happy ending ( not that it would be bad), but an ending that explains what happens to the different characters and worlds that survived. a decent epilogue, even if it's mostly text, while music is playing in the background or something of that sort.

If I make it that far. I keep playing for an hour or so, then I get bored. The action is fun and immersive, but the bad dialogue and story writing kills it for me.

But yeah, I'll do that. I'll save it before going through "that door" and wait for a DLC or something.

Well... Normally I'm not actively looking for happy endings. Heck, the world is full of sad endings so fiction can feature them as well. I can only laugh at the tearjerking posts all over the internet.
If that character needs to die after winning an endless row of un-winnable battles and saving the galaxy a few times, so be it.

But it should be a logical ending at least. One that explains what's been happening.

And it should be one that respects the gameplay principles the franchise happens to be known for. The gameplay people pay money for. I can't see ME3's ending do that.

Good on you. Because you would not have to be a fanboy to be royally pissed off.

I personally expected [*******#ffffff]Shepherd to die at the end, and would have been perfectly content with his death coming right after Andersen's. But to subject his character to that afterwards...
Mass Effect isn't what you consider hard science fiction by any means, but it also isn't completely out there. Which what makes the whole idea of [*******#ffffff]having some magical wave merge organic and synthetic a completely laughable concept to the point of absurdity (I especially like the fact that with circuit lines needed to show the merger, EDI, an already synthetic being, is shown with those lines). The epilogue definitely did not help things.
[*******#ffffff]And finally, how do you resolve the fact that pretty much every single race (or at the very least the military element of the races) is now trapped on the Sol System? Can you see the logistical nightmare that would become (places to live, overpopulation, biochemical barriers potentially resulting in starvation for some races)? After that, how could that be considered the salvation of the galaxy.

As for the fate of your crew, it is forgivable for Mass Effect 1 to only show the fates of the ones right by you (and imply that the others are fines as the Normandy was fine) because it is expected to discuss them in the next game. And Mass Effect 2 shows us everybody at the end. But here, we only see a handful of people. [*******#ffffff]Where did your squadmates go ([*******#ffffff]at the very least, show their dead bodies)?
[*******#ffffff]What happened to those living on the Citadel? Etc, etc, etc.
