China's authoritarianism is at times ruthless and at times, well… confused.

What does it say about a nation that imprisons its artists and silences its authors?

Well its china and they do these things. Comies arresting critics of the government? Well they are god damn commies lol thats what they do. Since it was famous Chinese designer they put him on the house arrest first probably threatening with the labor camps if he will continue his criticism of the government...

They are communist in name only. In reality, China is a ruthlessly controlled oligarchy.

Chinese Communism will fall when the West has another leader strong enough to say "Mr. Hu, Tear down that wall"

Beware. Ai Weiwei criticise the same CPC which made him a millionaire. Maybe he should return all the money he made from the CPC unconditionally. Until he does so he is nothing but a hypocrite. Right now I reserve my judgment of his real intention.

    And in other related news.

TheMiddlePath abhors democracy that he would never consider to immigrate to an authoritarian state if he has to. Until he does so he is nothing but a hypocrite.
