I've totally reinstalled Java and removed all the old stuff. Totally updated all video drivers incase that was an issue. Re downloaded Tekkit several times. Same "Minecraft has run out of memory bug" every damned time I play after 5-10 min. Vanilla Minecrack had none of those issues.

How much RAM does your pc have?
In the tekkit launcher options, you can adjust the RAM usage.

unfortunately these mods are sometimes RAM heavy, i know spoutcraft mod was

Just download, and the launcher will do it for you. It is very easy, the launcher can also launch all the different packs for minecraft, and it does it for you. Tehnic pack is awesome, cool with nuclear power plants, able to create nukes, oil plants etc and electricity and all that stuff.

I've DLed that one already - takes forever to start up for me, is that normal?
Also I didn't have time to do anything with it yet as I didn't have the nerve for it after waiting for it to start (literally took about 5 minutes)
Does it download the necessary mods on it's own or do I need to get the tekkit pack separately.
Also is there a wiki or something to see what tekkit can do and how to build new stuff etc?

Its normal for it to take several minutes to start up

it does download everything you need,

The handy thing with tekkit is it tells you in game on the right hand side of your menu recipies and guides how to build anything...

update to the latest version of java AND delete the old ones.

Also it didnt like my anti virus ( i use AVG) So i had to disable it temporarly to update the launcher to be able to play.

Raspu is the expert at this stuff

I would recommend the industrialcraft wiki (IC2 is part of the tekkit pack) for a start. They have a very decent first steps tutorial http://wiki.industrial-craft.net/ind...al:First_Steps. Or you could just come to the server: 89.163.167.74. I'll help you out.
