    Well its the weekend and 05.35hrs here in the UK so time for the weekend Photos Thread Thought must admit its going to be hard to match the excellent quality of the Photos from the last week that everyone has posted on the daily photo threads !

    Default India Company Marines seek and destroy Taliban



    Lance Cpl. Adam Zaugg, an assaultman with India Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, crosses a canal during a mission, Nov. 24. Zaugg, a 20-year-old native of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and fellow Marines often had to cross knee to waist-deep canals during multiple patrols while on a mission to hunt Taliban fighters.


    Sgt. Gregory Wenzel, 1st platoon sergeant with India Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, counts ammunition after a firefight, Nov. 23. Wenzel, a 26-year-old native of Altoona, Pa., and fellow Marines received an ammunition resupply after the firefight, which lasted two hours and involved support from helicopters and artillery.


    Lance Cpl. Michael Brown, an infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, uses a metal detector to sweep for improvised explosive devices during an operation, Nov. 23, 2010. Brown, a 20-year-old native of Kansas City, Mo., and his fellow Marines maintain constant awareness for IEDs and sweep every area.

    Default Anti-Submarine Warfare Exercise – 2010

    Anti-Submarine Warfare Exercise (ASWEX) 2010 is an important exercise for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), providing Submarine and Anti-Submarine (ASW) training and trial opportunities for maritime and air assets. The RAN also takes this opportunity to develop tactics and test weapons and weapons systems in the conduct of ASW.
    The annual maritime exercise is being held in the Western Australian Exercise Area off the coast of Perth and adjacent air space from 15-26 November 2010.

    Default Tunnel System and Weapons Cache in Helmand



    During a deliberate clearing operation in Musa Qal’ah district of Helmand province Nov. 26, Afghan and coalition forces discovered and destroyed a significant weapons and improvised explosive device cache. The operation also resulted in two insurgents killed and six detained.

    Default Côte d’Ivoire : exercice héliporté à Lomo nord

    On 16 November, the detachment of the light aircraft and Army infantry company of the Licorne force conducted a joint exercise. The mission was for a Puma helicopter equipped with light machine guns MAG 58, to train in the establishment and recovery of ground troops in a hostile zone. The exercise took place on the camp Lomo north, 180 kilometers from Abidjan.

    Default Military Activity Increases After North Korean Attack

    South Korean marines patrol on Yeonpyeong Island on November 26, 2010 in Yeonpyeong Island, South Korea. South Korean Prime Minister Lee Myung-bak announced the government would increase the number of troops and heavy weapons on the disputed island of Yeonpyeong after dozens of artillery shells fired by North Korea struck the island on November 23, resulting in 4 deaths and further injuries and prompting return fire from South Korean troops. The incident comes amid tensions over North Korea's nuclear program and the announcement of North Korean leader Kim Jong II's youngest son as his successor.
