"Supposedly", GRRM is down to just 3 chapters to go with Dance with Dragons. Not holding my breath though, as its been imminent since 2009. But I will be buying it as soon as it comes out.
Yeah I read something that he was near finished, the working release date at my local book store is Dec 2012....Doesn't GRR Martin know that the world will not have existed for a entire week when his book releases?
I downloaded Game of Thrones onto a Kindle, and so it will be my first e-book. I'm so ****ing hip, it hurts. I have to finish Matterhorn first, though.
I want to read Matterhorn, from the sounds of what people here have said its a good read.

Glad to hear it WB, the rest of the series are equally good. Then you'll be through the 5 of them and you can join the rest of us cursing GRRM for not having finished the 6th yet.
One week to go until the TV series starts on HBO. Looking forward to this.
Also, apparently a July 2011 date for the next book is confirmed, by no less than GRRM himself. An actual set in stone date.
