I had to check that and it's true. I didn't even know who that tall dude was. I had no idea they changed The Mountain's actor... I'm disappoint...

Ian Whyte, rather appropriately usually plays the white walkers, thats him in the series 1 intro and playing wildling child services at crasters keep!

Conan Stevens got poached by Peter Jackson who's using him in the Hobbit movie, the idea i think was that since the mountain is kind of a minor part he could nip over in the quiet bits, film GoT and then go back to Wetta, but it didnt work out and the filming commitments clashed. Hopefully he will be back, Whyte has the height but he doesnt have the sheer physical presence of Stevens and certainly not the action hero credentials needed soon for Gregor.

Without reading the thread out of fear of spoilers, how is Game of Thrones? I don't really watch TV at all but I'm curious about this one, and I'm considering perhaps getting a DVD set since I don't have the luxury of a stable schedule.

Certainly worth checking out. I had no interest whatsoever when I first watched it - it was only recommended to me by people in the office. Try the first episode out - it hooked me.

Up to HBO standards, good writing and cast.

Thanks, should be good for just letting something take my mind with it for a while.

DVD sets are the way to go, a couple of episodes in a row, beats waiting around every week.

In regards to British actors in HBO series...HBO tends to cast actors that might not be hugely known in the states. Damian Lewis was **** Winters...did pretty good on the Pennsylvania accent.

Be warned that this series is not about battles or fights like Spartacus, some people seem to expect that. It is rather about characters and their schemes like Tudors. Which is a plus for me, but tastes are different there.

I would at least watch the first episode on some internet stream before buying the whole thing.

Defo worth it in my book. However, if your the regular prudish yank, be prepared to have your sensibilities offended by gratuitous seks, full nudity and the odd bit of violence as well.

I wonder why they could not find a more beautiful actress with more female characteristics than this one who performs Asha (Yara) Greyjoy. She is like man who dressed like a wh0re.

Actually she's more like a average british girl dressed like a man.

I wouldn't have cast Gemma Whelan either. She's certainly not the Asha off the page character-wise! But as they also renamed her Yara, I guess they weren't shy of making big changes.

So no Bastard of Bolton in this episode?

What's the armor the Stark host wears? Roose Bolton isn't with Robb...he should be at Harrenhal now.
