Haven't seen the BBC report before but the subject is a repost. http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...roof-Underwear

Having said this it's still a great and, unfortunately, necessary piece of gear I guess.
Not exactly -the "blast boxers" featured in the original thread are basically two-layer kevlar cycling shorts and are underwear. The "codpiece" is exactly that - a more bulky strap-on version worn outside the clothing more like a shaped and fitted version of a groin-protector flap.
I also don't think the "blast boxers" were seriously intended by the army to be fielded, whereas the codpieces are in MTP and apparently about to go on issue.
Bollocks!
first one to it.
Well if it keeps the important bits (and those pesky arteries too) safer, good stuff. Just holpe its not too much weight/discomfort to wear
I wonder how they will Chafe. Hump 10k's with that on, I imagine your thighs will be ripped apart. Hopefully not.
We used to wear black (kevlar) assault vests, back in the day. they also had the groin protector. You can secuur it with two buttons. It unlocks yust by pulling it down. The vest is bloody heavy..
Can I be the first in this thread to say 'Betty Swollocks'?
*Off Topic*
