I ve always liked Spider Jerusalems attitude so that will be Transmetropolitan. I ve also enjoyed Max Anderssons surreal comics (Pixy, Container, Death & Candy etc.).

Got started reading comics when I was a kid thanks to GI Joe and Transformers. Basically just 32 page toy advertisements. Got into superheroes with Uncanny X-Men during Marc Silvestri's run in the late 80s. Whilce Portacio and Jim Lee did some good work on Punisher around that time too. I read Todd McFarlane's run on Amazing Spider-Man. Star Brand. Daredevil. Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns. Akria. Spiderman 2099

Read a lot of the early image stuff. Mostly a lot of crap at the time. Wildcats and Deathblow were the standouts. Read a little Spawn but it didn't hold my interest.

Somewhere around '94 Marvel decided to publish nothing but editorially driven mega-crossover crap. That doesn't seem to have changed.

I had generally lost interest in superheroes early on in high school, although to this day I still pick up anything drawn by Jim Lee or Travis Charest. Lately I buy Walking Dead and not much else.

JKD the crossover stuff.... while it is important to read a lot of it,it is very good usually. I read the trade paperbacks and then donate them to the library at the VA. I don't read the slow monthly issues but, compilations can be fun.

Captain Americas' death and rebirth (or the Winter Soldier storys as I call it) were great. Anyone enjoying the X-Men Selene stories with the New Mutants and the X-Island/Atlantis run? Or GLs Blackest Night?

Its about CIA stuff, a guy named alfa (its his code name, you never get to know his real name), the comic i posted is that he and his team tries to take down a russian maffia organisation. The thing about this comic is, it isnt like jason bourne stuff etc. They are not super humans, you see them do undercover work, gather intel, then take suspects down with a SWAT like team. and many more. I guess it meant to show what the real thing is supposed to be like

Punisher MAX, I think it has a different title now. Lots of insane violence and gore.

Nothing like ultra violence and horrorshow groovies. I read the Squadron Supreme Max books some time back. Until 3 years ago, when I divested my books, I had the first 4 appearances of Punishy. In Spider Man (127?)and Giant-Sized Spider Man (number 4, I think) and the Spidey issue with Punisher that is Tarantulas first appearance. And the one shot B&W Punisher (forgot the name).

BAF: Sounds good. Don't know what is realistic or not with the CIA but, as long as it is entertaining.....

I like both. What I perceive as real and what I can suspend belief with. As long as I am entertained. I am either very gullible or just don't care.

So does anyone else here have a no-prize? Avengers has traditionally been my favorite book. Mantis was my childhood favorite, female comic character and Jonathon Raven was my favorite dude hero followed my Mar-vell and Adam Warlock.

Never read Spawn (except a few early ones), Jaemten as I was in my 30s when it came out.

    Poor MacFarlane loosing so much.

Haven't read tons. I read the sci-fi ( real) books. Read a ton of Star Wars last year.Pretty good. I liked the old Marvel B&W Science Fiction Comics from the 70s. Only a few issues came out but, they were superior for the time. Starlin I loved. Iron Man #55. Captain Marvel late 20s to 32. And all of them after. Strange Tales 178 to 181 and Adam Warlocks second book.

Just read the Marvel "Kings"? Storyline. Inhumans and Nova and Kree and Skrull and those pesky Shi'ar. Guardians of the Galaxy were involved etc... Those were very good if you like Marvel. 4 or 5 compilations.

The GL books at D.C. Blackest Night run. White Lantern. The Rann-Thanagar Holy War, I liked. And Stalin did some stuff at D.C. about 4 years back that was great. Using Julie Swartz' old characters and book titles.
