The Maleev is exceptionally nice. As for Glory Days. Hmmph. The Super Soldier Serum makes him pretty much immortal, I'd say. It removes most toxins from his blood and he can't even get drunk! He'll be around long after us (but, then most of them will.)

    Oh...Happy Pride Month Jim Hanley.

I see the Defenders compilation is coming out. They are really pushing that book. Did you read any? Dr. Strange makes a dead girlfriend come back to life by accident and then "pleasures her." I guess it is worth it to come back to life. Hope she doesn't get breast cancer a second time.

Will have a couple more pieces hopefully by years end, the Maleev and that Barbara one just look great to me. Maybe Glory days was in year 9999

Totally missed the flag in the link. Haven't read anything with the Defenders, but that synopsis with Strange is a little scary. Now I kind of want to check it out.

I have the Oath lying around which I need to get around to reading.

Midtown Comics is starring in their own reality show, I have a feeling it will not work out too well. Reality Comic Shops goings and comings would be half dirty conversations & half the guy who goes through the entire stack to find the best copy.

    Next Marvel event.

    Ultron War Is Coming…

Marvel has released two new teaser images for their upcoming post Avengers vs. X-Men event, The Ultron War. This event will mark the end of Brian Michael Bendis’ run on the Avengers titles before transitioning to writing the X-Men titles later this year. Expect more info about Ultron War to be announced at SDCC 2012 in July.

^ Defenders took a while to get started. Hate reading monthlies!

Reality creation machines a la DaVinci with some Kun Lun ( past and present-last Iron Fist series tie-in)plus Atlantian Magic a la Wundergore via Greenwich Village, Time Travel and Prester John,Evil Eye type of thingees.

Let's see. Mark Waid...never read Rocketeer but, he is a great writer so I'll check it out.

Midtown Comics Reality TV....Yikes and Jinkies! The last one ( with Lunchbox) was bad. Maybe you will enjoy it Frank as you are acquainted with them.

They've been putting that Ultron War off forever. Ties in with the first stories in present Avengers run (now in TP) with the Children of The Avengers and Kang and Maestro Hulk etc. Drawn by JRJR. Just before the new Infinity Gems stories run. Liked 'em both but, long time coming.

So the Children of The Avengers destroy the world. Naturally Iron Man takes advantage and steals more future tech.

This is War, huh? It's always War!

Looked into The Defenders a bit, has Matt Fraction writing so I'm probably on board already. One of his earliest works with AIT publishing is nice, Last of the Independents. Randomly found it on a shelf, haven't seen another copy since. another recent of his with Marvel [Icon], Casanova: Avaritia was getting some really nice buzz.

Yes, Waid is good writing though I know not everyone is crazy about his big book (Kingdom Come) He did a really good job with the Return of Barry Allen for The Flash and his JLA work. His series that just ended, Irredeemable and it's spinoff Incorruptible are supposed to be good. Superman: Birthright is probably my personal favorite. Don't count me on for that midtown show, I just don't think they put any actual fans into good light and just focus on artificial quirkiness.

I expect Ultron War to have 40 tie ins at least

Just hate how they do these life altering events so much now, they used to be a treat in them olden days and just seemed more fleshed out.

Ragemoor is awesome, was one of my favorites from this year. It's a mini so won't go past it's ending likely. It's both a good and bad thing, endings are good.

    Sad news

Lobo Creator Roger Slifer In Intensive Care After Hit-And-Run

Okay, here’s what I know. We had originally thought of keeping this quiet, because Roger is a fairly private guy, but as word is out and time might be of the essence if we’re going to find the hit-and-run driver, I’ll post what I know.

Roger is in Ronald Reagan Hospital at UCLA (I have not been in to see him, but his friends Will and Barry have). He is in intensive care. The nurse on duty could only tell me that he was in critical condition with a brain injury. Will and Barry said that he was unresponsive, but was heavily medicated since they had to do some brain surgery. I think the truth is that nobody knows what will happen. Prayers would be a good thing.

On the criminal front, it would be a very good thing to find the driver, not only for reasons of justice, but also insurance. We have no idea what Roger Slifer’s insurance situation is, but we suspect that it would be extremely helpful for medical bills.

The problem at the moment is that the Santa Monica Police do not seem to be making as much progress as they should. Some phone calls might be helpful.
    More in the link.

Waid: I was thinking Irredeemable and Incorruptible. Also, later hero stuff like Daredevil. To speak truthfully, I never liked Kingdom Come however, he is doing some really good stuff now.

He also takes those crazy slab'em folks to task. Making sure they are honest. I feel he is trustworthy.

Those anoying Marvel 20 tie -in, crossovers are killing me too. I can't figure out AVX etc...Why can't they have one book follow the other? Not this "These events happened before and during etc...?"

    Poor Roger. Speedy recovery.

I got that Alan Moore book. Haven't read yet. Off to lunch.

Have you, or anybody else for that matter, got a chance to check it out?
If so, how was it (without being spoiler-y)?

    Most excellent news!!

I really wish DC would get a clue and do a new animated Batman with a nice mix of Batman TAS and Nolans version. Dark, violent and adult.

Great cover. Cartoony yet also sexy. I thought at first this might be unusual but, then I remembered Harvey Kurtzmans' work.

The entire book is like that. It's worth doing a Google Images search on it.
No matter the quality, in the realm of animated comic book adaptations, everything seems to fall short compared to Timm's work.
