That would be a good storyline to use as a focusing point for the film, but might just be too much to develop well enough. Interested in which rogue(s) Nolan will use and how he will adapt them.

Need to do another list soon, probably Superman. I forgot to add to that Batman list, Gotham Central as a very honorable mention. It is less about Batman and is reads like a good police procedural. Related to DC, a Vertigo list is needed. Easiest stuff to recommend from that is stuff like Preacher, 100 Bullets, Y The Last man and so one.
Green Lantern, it depends on where you want to start. It is one of those characters that require some past reading for a good overview.
Those differ from how the comics have run, Justice League and JLU use Lantern John Stewart mostly IIRC. Hal Jordan is numero uno most of the time in the comics.
I jumped back into GL with the Rebirth trade, GL does itself a favor a lot of the time as the storyline when not intertwined with some crisis or a team generally feels familiar. Going with Jordan, you can start with the Green Lantern Chronicle trades which are mostly 50-60's stories. If you don't mind jumping into more present stuff, I wouldn't really see much of a problem jumping to Tales of the GL corps and then to Rebirth. The con is there is definitely dialogue that will reference stories you may not have read, it's up to you. GL is not my forte though, there are some decent essentials lists online and the better ones lay out the trades by timeline/events and characters.
Cipher. Legion of Super Heroes. Any written by Paul Levitz or Geoffrey Johns or DNA. The Superman books are pretty good. All Star Superman by Morrison if you like a new take on Old School Supes. But, reading your posts....maybe not. D*i*c*k* is Batman now. He's doing a good job while Bruce is "dead."
Since they are rebooting all seems futile. Good reads though.
I think Bruce is back now, the Odyssey arc or whatever it was.
Quick Supes list. I'm sure I'll forget a few to include.
All Star
For all Seasons
Birthright
Moore's seminal, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow
Secret Identity
Kingdom Come just because, great book in its own right and I'd say a gateway into DC and comics for some. Plus Shazam is a scary little boy in that one. Geoff's run on Action Comics too, which leads up to and adds to the main storyline with New Krypton.
Loved the All Star too. And the Moore which they just reprinted. Just finished New Krypton stories. Nice huge story arc.
Well, I guess the lawsuits, which went on and off for years, have been finished. The Seigle and Shuster families have won the copy rights to so much of the origin that D.C. is making a whole new one. I don't see it as Superman at all from what they say.

Emo Kal-el?
No way. The whole point of the Superman is that he's this powerful demigod that was raised to be humble and generous and use his powers to help everyone, not be a secret weapon in an underground base. Besides, its being written by Grant Morrison, the writer who adamantly opposes anything dark or emo in Superman's character and his issues are all the better because of it. The only difference is supposed to be that Supes looks like Super Bruce Springsteen now:
