Do you have a good jumping in point for Hellboy/BPRD?

    This is funny:

DC postpones sale of Batman, Inc #3 for a month because of 'sensitive material' in light of recent events.

Yep, Grant also announced he was taking a break from Super Hero books.

With Big Red and crew, I point you here : http://conquerorwurm.tumblr.com/post...-reading-order

As mentioned in that link, after a certain point in Hellboy you can kind of jump onto a lot of the BPRD books. Likewise, they do share a universe with other series that are more standalone (Lobster Johnson for example) and do have a good amount of one shots. It's something that you might be in for the long haul, you can usually find used copies of the first few Hellboy TPB's (and the BPRD series when it splits from the Conqueror Worm)

If you're OK with reading on the PC, then they should be available (both paid and not)

You can get torrent stuff with .cbr files and use this to read : http://comicrack.cyolito.com

Thanks for the links, FrankB. It's a pity about Morrison, but I see where he's coming from and I'll be interested to see what else he does.

It's good to break, I do the same with genres when reading comics and it helps to cleanse the palette in a sense. He might come back stronger than ever, not to forget that someone who could write Year One (Frank Miller) also wrote the cringe worthy nightmare that was all star bats & robin.

A little Morrison love in my shortbox. Think it might be good enough for a grading trip.

I need to get a new shelf, in the meantime the top of the small one I have is working (Though I have plenty of more stuff that isn't there)

Pretty much the same with the rest of the stuff, have a lot of issues from the past months pulls all over the floor as well. That shelf makes three with the two beneath it full up, never enough. Want to add that Batwoman HC soon.

I hope you enjoy Batwoman. Like I said earlier, it takes a couple of issues to warm up, but it's probably my favourite now, along with Demon Knights.

Definitely enjoy it, have the first 5 or so and like to keep a trade for reading when I really enjoy something.

I really enjoyed Morrisons' Batman books. The red, yellow, green colored TPs and the whole Return to Life via time travel/bat cave/Wayne History thingie. I also enjoyed his Batman Incorporated past and present. And I liked his old Superman stuff etc... The recent Action book was horrible with a few good oneshots. The whole Superman family of titles is a mess. Not sure if he is to blame or if it is completely Scott Lobdells' lame brain. It is a disgrace though, and instead of making it better, the decisions DC is making are mostly worse.

I like Fabian Nicieza usually but, his Legion Lost got off to a slow start. It was much better after the first few issues and with Tom DeFalco starting it is still good. I am not a fan of Toms' but, he is doing a decent book. Could it be editorial reasons why it was bad? Trying to fit it into that damned Lobdell Culling Crap? I think so. Almost ruined LL but, of course Scott fans try to blame anyone else.Teen Titans is a total lose. Superboy too. I think DeFalco took over that too so it may get better. Lobdell fans are trying to blame it on Tom. But, they are idiots. It sucked way before Tom had the book. Maybe it is good now. Lobdell has taken over Superman, I think. That was already a damn mess. No wonder Morrison wants out of Action.

Actually was able to get two tickets for next year's Comic-Con...only took an hour and fifteen minutes.

Managed to finally get my hands on LoEG: Century 2009.
I actually liked this one a lot. While yeah, in true League style, there was tons of items of shock value, it wasn't the incoherent, *****-laden jumble that characterized 1969 (though Quartermain's death did make up for the small frequency of ****s in view... bleugh). Never knew that one could portray Mary Poppins as a complete and utterly menacing badass (the quibble about that scene being that it seemed to be a bit of a deus ex machina). Also, is it just me, or did Moore/Gibbons have an inordinate amount of fun putting details into the massacre of Hogwarts?
I do notice that it appears to set up for continuing stories. Now to read it again and pick out the more obscure references.

    1) I think they both have lost a lot of what they used to have, talent-wise. Moore especially. Plus, jealousy that she has made millions with her books and movies and they have not. Is this her fault?

Ten miles? In Texas that is a next door neighbor. Don't forget the internet/mail order. The right Trade Paperbacks can really "do it" as well.
