All are rumors!!! We are know that the Colombian Fighters fleet are the upgraded KFIR C10 and C12 for a total of 24 fighters. I think 12 of those are new and the other 12 are upgraded. the rumors are that the US are offering some F-16s stationed in italy. Others that the Colombian Goverment has talks to the swedish to buy the Gripen. but you know just rumors.

Yes, the Mirage 5 COAM/CODM are going to be replaced by the adquisition of 13 israeli made kfir jets. There will be two squadrons of this aircraft. One destined to CAS and bombing missions equiped with the C-12 version, and the other destined to air superiority missions equiped with the C-10 version.

That would be our tip of spear, for at least the next ten years. That's no good news but the air force budget is small and we have other priorities such as COIN missions. We expect that in the next years (5 or so) another proyect will start, and finally replace this old fighters.

The Colombian Air Force sent two Helicopters (UH-60 & B-212) to Costa Rica last week, to help in the humanitarian relief efforts after the Hurricane Thomas.
