Who's next I wonder, Algeria?
Tonight, protesters have surrounded the parliament building in downtown Cairo. There have been two deaths of protestors in Suez; one policeman has died in Cairo, hit by a rock. The protestors in Tahrir Square have been tear-gassed, and Twitter has been blocked within the borders of Egypt.

This could end up being a very very bad thing, why do people (I'm not accusing anyone on the forum of this) always asume that these revolts will end in happy perfect little European style democracies?
obviously hotlinks to twitpics are not allowed, thought it could be considered as a sharing site
so I'll compensate with this

Here's hoping that Mubarak get booted out. Three decades of the creep is enough!
Doubt it, though. I think at most it might be a palace coup / changing of the guard, if that.
I really wish it was Iran but in time I suppose.
Relax, this wont even be news in 48 hours, the disturbance will quell in a few days. These disturbances in Cairo flare up every few years, this time it's motivated by the Tunisian incident.
Mubarak has a firm hand on his government, there isn't going to be any coup.
There would be concern if the Egyptian military and police forces just observed from the sidelines, as with the Tunisian incident. It appears they are actively engaging the rioters.
