Let's wait and see. In a couple of days Egypt will be back to business as usual with no changes, just some people who lost freedom, life or health. Sad story, but the days of the French revolution are past - the modern security options make a protest futile, unless the securitiy forces themselves are refusing to act or change sides (see army in Tunisia)

Majorities of Muslims in Jordan and Nigeria also favor these harsh punishments.
Fair enough, but have you ever contemplated running a poll right where you life on "hang ****** offenders by their ********s" or "burn child molesters alive"? You'd probably receive a good "yes" turnout. Now take into account that adultery in this culture is not accepted as it is here. So I would take these surveys with a grain of salt.

True about the cultural difference on adultery, i suppose. But the vast majority of egyptians seem to embrace draconian sharia punishment across the board.. But i don't know if this poll is accurate. Just an interesting thing to read, with the posts assuring us how moderate egyptians are.

Yeah I wouldnt want islamists to follow but I wouldnt critisize anybody for wanting a better life and to be able to live freely.

Do we just leave these regimes in place for all of lifetime because they are pro western while treating their own population like crap? That cant be good.. selfish on our part to be honest. Infact a kind of Ultimate Hypocrisy.

Ive met quite a few Egyptians and I cant ever remember them being overly religious and supportive of crap like muslim brotherhood etc etc.

Interesting to see how this all turns out.
    You speak my mind.

I would not even surprise me to see Turkey aiding Israel's enemies in such a conflict, though I doubt they would commit troops.
In that case I don't see it beign just an Israel-Arabs war.

No No No No No...Mossad Lies. Btw the White Revolution was even more moderate and *leftist* than this. And indeed today it's only about secularism, public opinion and freedom of speech in Iran...

I sincerly doubt that people in the ME do understand what they're doeing right now.

Edit: Ought six...no before that happens there will be a civil war in Egypt. Not every one is happy to the "beardies" gain power. Especially a huge chunk of the upper and middle (sort of) class. So before the MB tries $ they will have to solve the Copt problem, the NDP problem and the "non-beardie" problem. That will keep 'em occupied for at least a couple of years.

I am really astonished by some of you who actually make fun of people who ignore the truth and blame Mossad for every road accident in the arab world, then, make the same superficial interpretation of events.

Please be fair enough to spend 30 min of your time following any reutable news agancy, you will find all public figures from all Opposition Parties, Current Government, Famous Political Analysts and even from MB themselves confirming that the movement is completely Public Youth Movement

As usual, our respectful National Security Investigation police, has recruited recorded criminals armed with sticks and dressed in civil costume to terrorize protestors:
