No no, we have predicted all right about every single thing that would happen if naive and/or dumb resolutions were to be implemented by equally naive/dumb western educated/employed government/NGO paid social engineers.

We were right on Lybia, Tunisia and Egypt and we right on the Oslo process (not me personally, I was among the idiots mentioned above who wanted to "give peace a chance").

So next time people have wonderful ideas about the Middle East, print them in A3, roll them tight and shove them where they belong, cause you have no buyers anymore on this corner of the planet.

Things are getting quite serious again.

Opposition in Alexandria, Egypt, Declares Independence
    Saturday, 8 December 2012

The Egyptian opposition has declared independence of the northern province of Alexandria from the "Islamic regime.” According to local media, hundreds of opponents of President Mohammed Morsi attacked the local administration building and declared their sovereignty. Almost immediately several vehicles with armed men appeared on the scene. According to incoming information, the so-called Islamic militia attacked the opposition, driving it out of the governor’s building.

Islamist backers of Mohamed Morsi are resorting to religious rhetoric to galvanise support for the Egyptian president as the country’s political stand-off showed little sign of resolution. Supporters and opponents of Mr Morsi held competing mass rallies in Cairo on Friday, as opposition anger deepened over the president’s decision to strengthen his powers and rush through a new constitution.

With no apparent end to Egypt's constitution crisis, supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Morsi's constitutional declaration and draft national charter are digging their heels in, further entrenching themselves in their respective camps. Morsi's Thursday night speech, the first since the outbreak of violence days earlier, was met with firm opposition both on the street and by a political elite allied in opposition umbrella group the National Salvation Front, which announced Friday its refusal to accept the president’s offer for dialogue.

Morsi needs a miracle to survive. His fall would mark the start of a long instability period in Egypt.

At least 9 killed, hundreds wounded on 2nd anniversary of Egypt uprising

Thousands of opponents of President Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood allies massed in Cairo's Tahrir Square to rekindle the demands of a revolution they say has been hijacked by Islamists.

Tensions are rising in Egypt ahead of what might be the largest anti-government protest since the revolution that deposed autocrat Hosni Mubarak in 2010. A high-ranking Egyptian army officer told the Palestinian news agency Maan on Thursday that all signs foretell that the mass protest, already dubbed the "June 30 revolution," may bring the Muslim Brotherhood regime to its end.

It took the French nearly a century to settle the Republic for good, from 1789 to 1871.
