Today,i bring a old war in PRC's history started thirty yeas ago, between two communist states and once comrades and red brothers.

1 The sino-vietnam war:
Also called the war against vietnam in self-defense.The generalized war,is the border armed conflict during ten years from 1979 to 1989,include 1979 PLA start to fight against vietnam in self-defense,1981 the battle of PLA capturing Kou Lin mountain and Fa Ka mountain,1984 the battle of PLA capturing Lao mountain,Zhe mountain and the East mountain,thousands of military actions to attack and occupy enemy's firing point.

2 Background(Politics):
2.1 Domestic factor:
PRC after "the Great Cultural Revolution",the new generation group leadership just started to govern this poor country.The revolustion damages brought big crisis of confidence to CCP.Well,we must admit there cant find another efficient way to encourage and improved national cohesion rather than the war. Lets dont forgot Mr Deng indeed is a militarist,not a successful economist or a leader of government.On January 1, 1979, Mr Deng visited the USA for the first time and spoke to American president Jimmy Carter: "Children who don't listen have to be spanked." (original Chinese words: 小朋友不听话，该打打屁股了。)

2.2 External factor:
"Cold War"---the profit conflit between S.U and U.S.PRC had cut off the comrade's relaionship with S.U since ten years,and this year(1979) Mr Deng visited to U.S on January,next month PLA ordered to cross the border to combat in vietnam.The china launched the offensive in response to Vietnam's 1978 invasion and occupation of Cambodia, which ended the reign of the PRC-backed Khmer Rouge.After a brief incursion into Northern Vietnam, PRC troops withdrew about a month later. Both China and Vietnam claimed victory in the last of the Indochina Wars of the twentieth century; however, since Vietnamese troops remained in Cambodia until 1989 it can be said that the china failed to achieve the goal of dissuading Vietnam from involvement in Cambodia. However, china achieved its strategic objective of reducing the offensive capability of Vietnam along the Sino-Vietnam border by implementing a scorched earth policy. China also achieved another strategic objective of demonstrating to its Cold War foe---the Soviet Union.China also made new friends with the western coutries during the war,and kept the honeymoon relationship with U.S until we knew 1989s.

Unfortunately there was no mention or exhibit of this conflict at the Beijing Military Museum.
My driver in Beijing was in the PLA during this period in Fujian but was unaware of this conflict.

Maybe u wanna say only lactating woman can feed baby,i also doubt that.It seemed she is a nurse,maybe the wounded gonna die,reminding his Mom just wish to suck last time? Who care about that...
I dont know about her kid,it's such a old photo even i cant find out the author.It's in the battle, cant believe every crazy behaviors...

Thanks for the photos and videos as well. There has been little shown of the Sino-Vietnamese conflict yet many claims. For some reason the videos all have the same color distortion as if the camera or lighting was bad. However I strongly suspect it has more to do with censorship.
