It's good to see the Libyan people finally kicking out those militias maybe now the army and police can do its role.

The biggest troublemakers are Misratis (under auspice of Sewehli, head of Misrata party close to MB) and Nawasi militia from Souq al-Jumma district of Tripoli (buds buds with both MB and cleric Sallabi). Huge role also played by Grand Mufti Sadeq Gheriani. They failed in elections so they figured they can take power by other means.

Quick question since I haven't fallowed Libya that closely since the Civil war ended. Is the army just as fractured as the militias i.e. (Benghazi army units not liking the Tripoli army units and vice versa with the Misrata army units)? I also wonder is federalism still a big issue in Libya, I know last year there were some big riots in the east about it.

No, but army is small and still not so powerful. Accusations on its Chief-of-Staff that he is letting enrolled militias (not part of the army, although paid by MoD) doing missions rather than army units and being too soft on militias does not help either. Fact that government is afraid to use power is on one side nice (not being like Gaddafi and all) on other side soldiers and policemen are for 2 weeks looking at several ministries where militias are doing BBQ with orders to stay in place.

As for federalism, its still an issue but political one. I think we´ll see that topic being opened once again when Constitution will be drafted but currently MB and militias took the spotlight.

Thanks Kalerab. I remember during the Federalism riots a former important rebel commander I cant remember his name but I knew his face from the revolution. Anyway he was really pushing federalism and I know he was not pushing it for the good of libya.

There weren´t riots. And if you are talking about AbdulHakim Belhadj he never went much into all that federalism stuff. The initiative for federalism is mostly from population and tribal elements who fear that policy of Tripolitania preferation will continue.

Nah it wasn't Belhadj I cant remember the name but it wasn't him. Your right I shouldn't used the word riot. I should have said some of the protests turned ugly even someone pulling a gun on the pro-federalism protesters.

Small protests with dipshyts shooting at helicopters, cops guarding voting ballot in Ajdabiya and storming oil refinery in Ras Lanuf. At the end of the day many federalists went ahead with election only because they did not want to be associated with them. And I can´t remember any prominent rebel leader, only Zubair Senussi (head of CNT) from Senussi royal family who was imprisoned extensively by Gaddafi after he failed with his coup. Old and respectable man.

I don't know maybe he wasn't as prominent as a thought I just remembered seeing him quite a bit during the civil war and the last I saw him he was pushing federalism. With his militia backing him of course.

A car bomb explosion near a hospital in the Libyan city of Benghazi has killed several people, officials say.
The death toll is unclear. Local officials initially said nine people had been killed. A hospital spokesman later said three bodies had been found.
The blast follows a string of bombings in the eastern city in recent days.
Security remains precarious in Libya since the uprising against long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi, with protests by militias and attacks by Islamists.

Apparently it was an accident. Weapons smugglers car filled with ammo went off. Or rather the explosives did. With the smuggler and other smuggler.
