I am reading and watching the news and there is a talk about European mercenaries.
Can that be possible and what numbers would we be talking about?

That's the point. It's really "funny" to see how these so called "democratic" inspired revolutions are so full of hateful ideology..

Those who believe that something positive will come out from these "revolutions" are really naive or really ignorant about the arab world.

First that is not my post just chopped pieces of it. Read forum rules.

Second your paranoia about Arabs has become worse, there are limits after all. Not everything that goes on in the Arab world is connected to Israeli related issues.

The Libyan Ambassador to the USA has jumped ship.

1231 Libya's ambassador to the United States has resigned, saying he no longer represents his country's "dictatorship regime" and called on Muammar Gaddafi to depart.
"I resign from serving the current dictatorship regime. But I will never resign from serving our people until their voices reach the whole world, until their goals are achieved," Ambassador Ali Aujali said in an interview on ABC television's "Good Morning America."

"I am calling for him to go and leave our people alone."

I wonder what China's attitude will be, they have never been fans of Regime change or 'intervention in countries internal affairs, if they veto it Gaddafi will retain air superiority, and if he can keep enough loyal pilots or obtain the services of enough foreign ones, he might (at the cost of thousands of lives) crush the opposition to him.

LOL sorry but who cares what China thinks or any other distant country thinks, even other Arab countries like SA or Syria or Oman.

Apparently the Dutch MoD has been granted permission to land a KDC-10 at Tripoli airport. Nevertheless the Frigate)Tromp) that had been diverted from it's original course to the Somali Gulf to replace HNLMS De Ruyter there on anti-piracy operations, has not been recalled. MSN.nl quoted a defence spokesperson as saying they wanted to keep all options open. ATM it's not publicly known if the RNLAF has sent F-16's along with the KDC to protect it, considering possible hostile forces in the Libyan airspace. Taken into account that Tromp was headed towards Somali waters, it seems logical that it's carrying Navy Special Ops/CT, but again, not much in the way of public confirmation.
