I've got a few Space Marines I've collected simply because I liked the look, today I finally took the plunge and bought the Assault on Black Reach starter set. One of my mates has just started collecting 40K and was looking for someone to play against and that was the final thing I needed to convince myself to get started.
I now have Warhammer, Warhammer 40K and Lord Of The Rings armies from Games Workshop. I'm running out of space in my painting area![]()
These are my first ever space marines too. You going to do your AOBR marines as Ultramarines or something else?
I reckon Ultramarines, simply because I like the look of them. My favourite looking Space Marines are the Ultramarines and Dark Angels, and since the rest of my 40K models are Orks I'll stick with the Ultramarines simply for some contrast on the tabletop. Too much green otherwise![]()
I managed to finish the final figures from the Island of Blood set I bought back in September last year - the high elf noble on a griffin and the wizzer.
I'm happy enough with it, although if I was to do it again, I'd do somethings differently. Might take some pictures of the wizzer later, he doesn't look too bad neither.
Some of the figures I've finished from the Assualt on Black Reach set so far

Hellhound built from Chimera, I didn't want to drop another $15 for a kit that only had an additional part in it.
My CO, custom ordered after people on the warseer forumns got an independent artist to make female Cadian models, expensive but it does make it stand out from the rest of the Army. The hospitlar is part of the Inquisitor retinue a WIP
EDIT:Wow, the flash really makes the models and painting look crummy, they're better in real life

Yeah, flash is the enemy of good looking figure photos. I suggest you retake them without the flash, just put them either in sunlight or if it's a very bright day with very sharp shadows, in a lightly shaded area. And take the pictures from a little further back, 15-20cm is ideal (7-8").
Nice conversions though, I wonder where the sculpter got the head from?
Sandy, those are some nice Ultramarines there. Do they have a spot for the horseshoe logo?
I somehow have ended up with 7 canons/mortars for my Empire forces. They've been sitting around unpainted for the past six months until this weekend when I got annoyed about it. Finished one, two more are close to being done (maybe by next weekend), the rest are a bit further back. Also managed to slice my finger up which trying to cut stuff out of a sprue with a knife that was too blunt to cut plastic, but still sharp enough to cut flesh.

Those mortar crewmen look brilliant.
Here's one of my Space Marine Terminators, and some Rangers of Gondor from the Lord of the Rings battle game.

Just got a second Dooooom Wheel for my Skaven. If there's any interest, I'll do a step-by-step as I put it together over the next couple of weeks.
I don't have any Skaven, but I am interested.![]()
The bulk of my Empire army. Lots of canons (7) and muskets (80) plus some halbards(60) and swords (20). Just got a few Pistoliers and Knights and a couple of wizards to do there, and I'm looking at about 3000 points worth.
