I'm surprised it took this long for me to think "hey I wonder if there are GW communities in the interwebs?".
I used to be on Warseer too! Same name.
A good forum for the painting/modelling is the Ammobunker. We even had a table at games day once!

I thought I’d post some work in progress shots of my newly acquired extra Island of Blood Skaven. Rather than having repeats of the character figures, I decided they’d need modification so I have been busy with the craft knife and spares box.

First up my modified Warplock Engineer and the Doooooom Rocket (of Doom). The head was swapped out for one leftover from the Doomwheel and the glaive swapped for a packmaster’s electrozap prod.

Next up a couple of claw leaders for the clan rats.

My modified packmaster. The arms with the whip and the bell came from the Empire Flagellants set, but they seemed rather appropriate.

And the rat ogres themselves. They’re the least finished of any of these and badly in need of washing/highlighting. For the first one I added the spear, and the second got an extra head and some extra claws.

Finally, I modified the warlord to become my Skaven army Battle Standard Bearer. I figured that a large bell would make a great Skaven “battle standard”, although it does seem a little fragile, hence the GS reinforcement.

The rocket is made from Chupa Chup sticks, a little bit of green stuff and some cardboard fins. It's also detachable from the stand so you can show that it's been used.

Working on five more Cold One Knights, so I can field two ranks! Or use the cold one mounts as beasts to pull a Dark Elf chariot (converted from High Elf). I feel like buying another battle force just to have unlimited options for my next unit/units. I know thats radacooouse but its an idea none the less.

Those Cold One's are very good. Love the paint job you did on those lizards. I have an old Grenadier dragon I scored off a mate at home that I have been scared to tackle because I don't think my reptiles would look anything like as good.

Some opponents for those Dark Elves I just finished painting. They're from the Island of Blood set. I'm not keeping them as I'm not collecting elves. This batch will be flying to New York on Thursday with a mate of mine who is going back home. The rest of them I'll paint up at some point and sell.

From what I can see, the Hydra would need lots of pinning and green stuff to make it all sit together properly. Looks like a cool unit to have on the board though.

Ran a battle today, Beastmen vs the Empire. No results though, had to abandon after a couple of hours as we ran out of time. The Beastmen had taken some casualties and had some units destroyed, but they weren't important units, while the Empire wizzard had managed to (mis)cast one of the high end spells on himself.

as a beastmen player i realy like to put Slugtongue against empire or elfs. he can take out some war machines or little elite squads without armour save before game start. especially in big games he deserves his points. once my opponent lost all his 5 strong chaos knights with my lucky dices.

Even with pinning & green stuff its a bitch to put together. I've all but given up on the heads, they are too heavy and I haven't been able to pin them effectively. Even with green stuff I'm having no luck. I'm going to take it in to the GW store and the fellas there said they would help me get it together on one of my days off.

In the mean time, my Chariot is looking awesome! I don't know why Dark Elf players on some other boards whinge about not having a current D.Elf Chariot model, the High Elf Chariot conversion is so much fun. The only down side is the fact I have to go out and buy a Reg't of Cold One Knights just to use for Chariot mounts.
